The Che-ez RAP is an entry -if not toy-level MP3 player. I bought it for Rs 2250 from an internet site. Admittingly that was the most foolish thing I had done in recent times.
Okey, about the gadget now. It comes with a 32 Mb smart media card, a head phone, connection cable and 3 'express on' covers. Software CD is accompanied but mine had an outdated(?) software, so I had to download one from internet. Now everything ok,and I started playing. BUt no audio!! I returned the gadget and gets another one promptly from the dealer.
That really played. But the accessory functions like repeat, shuffle, random and the equalizer modes didn't work with the apropriate controls. But sheer serindipity! These functions appeared once I engage and disengage the hold function. Now everything works (occasionaly). Many times the player hangs! Then no other way but to remove and replace the cells.
The audio quality is not bad. A 32 Mb card holds around 8 to 10 songs. Once the software is okey, data transfer fron the PC and the player is easy but somewhat slow. Changing the songs from the card is defenitly a more tedious procedure than changing a casstte. Spending a few hundred for another card is for sure not worth this gadget. So I feel a walkman would have been a better option.
It uses 2AAA size cells. A standard cell lasts for about 2 hrs of playing (only!!) Rs 20 for 2 hr casstte quality song is not sounding good. Wait! I tried the NiCad too. After 3-4 charging it faild to perform well. If you have easy money and a silly girl friend or a kindergarten daughter, then you may buy one as a present. And I dont think it will fit anywhere else. I am selling it.... buying?
