Story:

I am still reading this book. The book makes you think in a new way towards our own Indian Monsoon. The approach of the book is very simple. Reading this piece of art makes me long for my hometown Lucknow where I used to sail boats in small ponds during monsoon and wait for the rainy day in school. Alex makes us travel with him from the South to the North going through the places which he visits while chasing the monsoon. In the varied affect and behaviour of monsoon the diversity of our culture is enfolded slowly. You can feel the first freshness of rain falling on dry fields. The first windy splash of rain on a mud laden tree. The first "tur-tur" of frog. The black outs when heavy rains pour. The customs associated with rains. The mythological stories associated with Indian Monsoon. A must read for all nature lovers.
