Chashme Baddoor: Good news. One of the most iconic comedy film makers from 2000s is back in form. David Dhawan welcome back.
What a laugh riot. Make no mistake this is not a classic nor it is subtle like the original. David Dhawan has made Chashme Baddoor his own. While he has taken the story line from the original Sai Paranjape film, he has completely redone almost everything else – I could call it a remixed version. And yes, he does pay homeage to Sai with “Chamko” washing powder.
I had a smile from the time the movie started till it ended. The only complain I have is about the music. It could have been much better.
The 3 friends played by Ali Zafar, Siddharth and Divyendru Sharma are excellent. Siddharth is a revelation from Rang De Basanti where I saw him last. The heroine – Taapsee Pannu is passable. The show stopper is Rishi Kapoor as Joseph – he surprises his fans all the time; and yes he still dances better than most of today’s lads.
A must watch stress buster – it has come at the right time – remove your March end pressures and your board exam stress. Go and enjoy the movie – believe me you will not miss IPL.
I give it 7.5/10 – could have been 8.5 had the music been better.
