Charlie's Angel is a James Bond movie-type atleast the opening. The movie is a tight packed action movie which I would say is like The Matrix which meets Mission Impossible II. It is rare to see a film that is both funny and full of action, Charlie's Angels manages to give its audience both which makes Mission Impossible II totally look out of the Blockbuster category. It somehow matches MI-2 and Matrix in action department with breathtakingly and heart-pumping fight sequences.
Charlie's Angels is a stupid movie with an incredible cast, wonderful inventive style, with a John Woo school of slow motion shots, James Bond movies introduction style, Mix of MI-2 and Matrix Fight sequences, with MTV style set designs, etc... The movie is fully of fun with all stupid things. It is definitely a rare movie to see, where three dominant females leads deliver an action-packed funny movie to the audience.
The movie starts out with a big action sequence where a character an African discovers that a fellow passenger has a bomb on the board. He grabs the terrorist and leaps out the plane's emergency exit, rolling down to the sea water below. We later learn that it is none other than Barrymore. She wears a latex mask (Well, you should see to believe it) with an voice alteration chip (remember Mission Impossible).
After saving the passengers in the plane, it becomes obvious for this James Bondette to save the world. They get a new assignment from the Charlie, their boss, to find who has kidnapped the nerdy creator of cutting-edge voice-recognition software. Now it is the duty of this detective to find out the truth behind the kidnapped with the input from Nerdy Software Creator's Partner.
The best thing about the movie, it never takes itself seriously and it looks like everybody enjoyed creating the movie. The movie is a total delight to watch from the beginning to end with its charm. With Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Li as the three dominant female leads it would definitely make what it needs to create a blockbuster.
WARNING: If you like to enjoy the funny moments of the movie and don't care for a story, screenplay, music, direction or enjoy to see a stupid movie then this is for you. Actually I just enjoyed the movie for every silly thing and my wife liked the movie for its fast-actions!!!
