The background and some philosophy :

The day was a friday. Workload was relatively low. And good company in the form of a colleague was available. So the setting was perfect to see this flick. The theatre this time was Regal.
When you watch a movie that you are not sure how it’ll be, the right company is very important so we can focus on other fine points in the surrounding.
The surprise :

We bought the tickets and as the usher showed us our seats, we were in for a surprise !! We were sharing the row with 3 angels sitting alongside us !! The youngest of them must be in her sixties and the oldest in her eighties !! Yes you read right !! It is NOT a typo. Incidentally the usher asked us to leave the fourth seat vacant. I joked to my friend that it must be for Charlie !! lol !! Imagine how we laughed when a gentleman DID come and occupy the vacant seat !! We were like howling in the hall !!
The Irritation :

Soon the inevitable sign was flashed on screen that read ’’Patrons are requested to stand up for the National Anthem’’. As everyone in the theatre groaned and readied themselves to stand up and pay their ’’forced’’ respect to the anthem, we were surprised with a poem sung by Mr.Chate (of Chate coaching classes fame)!! Everyone burst out laughing and some even joked aloud at how the national anthem was changed without informing them !! lol. After 2 more false alarms, the show of forced respect started. I do not know if it makes people more patriotic, but it does succeed in spoiling the start of the flick a bit !! I mean people are here to enjoy. Not to sing National Anthems !! What will be next, the anthem being sung before boarding a bus or catching a train !! Gawd, gimme a break !!
The Overview :

The first glimpse of an angels that we had was that of Lucy Liu’s b*tt !! So that can give you an idea of what a kick-ass movie this is !! (pun intended) ;-)
The theme is simple. 3 girls are leading dual lives. They are normal fun-loving, chirpy girls all the time. But they turn into super spies when they are on a mission for Charlie, their boss !! The angels are called to do jobs when all other agencies have failed to do it. The angels receive their orders from Charlie who doesn’t show his face but gives them briefings thru a speaker box in their office.
The Plot : 2/5

This time the plot is about rings. The country has a witness protection program that gives people who have testified against big time criminals a new identity and also protects their new lives. Now the information about these witnesses is encoded and stored in two rings and can be read only when both the rings are decoded together.
The angels come into picture when the rings are stolen and witnesses start disappearing. The story takes a twist when one of the angels herself turns out to be a witness !!
The weakest part of the plot is the question that popped in my mind - In this modern age of computers, why would anyone want to store information in Rings !!

Watching the action scenes in the film is like watching a hollywood inspired bollywood flick !! It is like watching spoofs from Bond-films, Matrix and Batman being done by the 3 angels. They fit in the roles like a lady in a gay bar (wonder what that would be like !! lol)
The angels are just NORMAL people picked by Charlie. They are neither specially trained as Bond, nor are they in a virtual world like Neo in Matrix. The guy-villain is normal flesh and and blood, but he walks thru flames as if he is a Terminator from the future !! The lady-villain swoops from buildings like she is the bat-girl !!
There is a dirt bike scene in the flick that feels more like a video-game scene rather than a genuine action scene. The camera angels are great, but the angels feel pasted on the bikes !!
Background Score : 4/5

The music, mostly from the album ’’The Fat of The Land’’ by Prodigy makes for excellent background music and makes the action scenes very exciting !!
There is also a song to which the 3 angels do an impromptu dance in their house. That dance is great to watch !!
My Verdict : 3/5

If you wanna watch well executed, genuine action on screen, the action scenes in the film are a dampner. But if you just wanna watch a movie and hang-out with friends like the 3 real-life angels in the cinema hall, This flick is recommended just for you !!
One of the scenes enjoyed in this film is when Lucy Liu’s boyfriend explains her dad what the angels do for a living and how he misunderstands him.
