A movie based on a true story set in the 1920's, which unfolds the unacceptable behaviour of the los angeles police towards a distraught mother who is helplessly looking for her lost child. Their cruel and insane attempts to sideline the case and prove their efficiency by covering up their mistake has been hightlighted to utmost perfection.
A heartening and emotional drama, which makes u feel sympathatic towards the longing mother and also makes us furious over the incompetent and corrupt police proceedings.One can feel the strength in angelina jolie's character, the kind of transformation it takes, seems so natural and perfect, not at all dramatic! The pain of every such mother has been just aptly displayed. She delivers a marvelous performance.
The screenplay of the movie maintains the pace capturing the emotions, maintaining a thrill throughout, makes one wonder what comes next. just so unpredictable.The settings are so authentic and natural. Characterisation is at its best, be it the cynic serial killer's self pity being awarded with death sentence or the playful attitude of the small child who decieved as walter, not knowing the magnitude of what he was doing.Everyone falls into place aptly.
Cinematography is worth mentioning especially the thrilling ranch scenes! Above All, the end stands out as the best, couldnt have ended better, When angelina says she has got hope which she didnt have till now.
Clint Eastwood proves his sheer genius of story telling once again!
