I may consider that you are willling to join CU because you haven’t get into the PEC, Thapar and others govt. engg colleges at Punjab University.
You are willing because you have been impressed by the overwhelming publicity of the PR staff of the university then damn not believe them because as soon as you provide them with the fees there will be no one to hear your problems.
I had also been a victim of these tantrums. Lastly god had saved me from drowning my around 10 lakh rupees and I landed in one of the best Govt University in the spot round.at CU I had BE(CSE) and here I have the same.
And, Don’t ever think of comparing CU with SRM, VIT and Thapar. This is so because these are the brand names in this field, on the other hand CU is just emerging. I mean it’s just a University established in 2012 and do not have even the sufficient rooms in Hostel for their students .I don’t know damn why these guys are taking admissions when their rooms in the hostels are filled.
At my time around 300 -400 students(including me) had to live in the halls with all their commodities because of the insufficient rooms in the hostels. So tell me what to do with all that “great infra” if you are not even sufficient to provide your students with the rooms atleast.
Coming to INFRA,
Do you know that when I was in CU last year for one month(later I got a government Uni at my home town), there were not even AC in the class room( I don’t know about the 2nd year) and the class was on the 3rd floor. So you can imagine the extent of uncomfortability…………., I am not saying that AC is necessary but if you are paying around 10 lakhs in a private Uni which is saying that it has a “great infra” then it becomes a necessity. At my present University I pay negligible fees in comaparison to CU and enjoy centralised ACs.
Faculty:
I know they have said that they have the highest number of PHD holder faculties in the campus.I don’t think so.The faculty as my experience says that they are new but they teach well.They are also friendly enough to solve your problems especially that PCS(Professional Communication Skills) but the one at the top(I mean Incharge) are not eager to hear you.
Now Location,
Let me clear you that CU is not in Chandigarh. It’s in a village named GHARUAN which is far-off from Chandigarh.
Crowd;
According to my experience the crowd is well adaptable for those from Punjab and Chandigarh side.
Now,
PLACEMENTS:
CU has good “Joint Placement Record”.A lot of companies including the biggies visit the campus for the joint placement drive.So you can imagine the extent of competitiveness .EG:-A guy is from BE(CSE) then he needs to compete not only with the 1400 other BE(CSE) guys of his batch but also with the students from several other colleges who come to CU to participate in the Joint Placement Drive.But if you are knowledgable enough that you can compete with all of them than it’s great.
Conclusion;
1)CU is a private Uni established in 2012.It does have “Good infra” but not even sufficient rooms in the hostels. It has good Joint Placement Record but let me clear you “Joint Placement Record”, go and search what it is than only you will understand the curse.
LASTLY,
If you are a guy from well earning family willing to spend the hard earned money and not getting any ANY GOVT. college and other Reputedcolleges(Thapar, BITS, VIT, SRM, etc.)then only opt for CU.
AND;
If you are the one with GOOD IQ and SCORES and do not give a damn to the fukrapantis then don’t dare to opt it and go for Thapar, SRM and VIT.
