I watched the movie alone and it really bowled me over. I WAS amazed by kareena's performanec and felt the level of intimidation one would feel after talking to a hooker after watching her performance in the movie. the movie, I tell you, is really good. Kareena, especially, is here to rock.

The screenplay is without a glitch and the script is really GOOD. The story is plain - a yuppie(Rahu bose) meets a hooker(ravishing kareena) by accident on a rainy night and gets attracted to her. He is forced to spend the whole night with her in the city. It's not like the ''pretty woman'' type but on an absolutely different platform. He helps her out of her troubles and ultimately gets her. Yes, GETS her.

Only one person clearly stomps the whole movie - it's kareena. An amazing performance. Be it her arched leaning on the wall, the casual laughter or even the walk. All psyches you out if only she isn't really a hooker. Not only has she done her homework well she has come out as a splendid actress of substance.I dunno if her voice was dubbed or if it was her own - the rendition was excellent for the brillinat dialogues with a philosophical taint as expected from any hooker in any art work relating them. the edge she would have now over nandhita das is her ravishing beauty.

Rahul bose has done nothing more , nothing less. He has neither over-expressed nor underplayed his role. His silence haunts the movie more than his dialogues. the best line I liked of the whole movie was this when kareena says to rahul - '' baki jaisa bhi ho, bas pyar hona chahiye''. this she says when a guy runs away from his house with 50k with a eunuch friend who is close to kareena. Rahul though laments over his wife's death for which he thinks he was responsible of the accident, he ultimately decides to get kareena. the climax is solid and couldn't have been better with the same line '' baki kuch bhi ho, bas pyar hona chahiye''.

the dialogues are extremely real and makes you a part of the scene. Never in one scene would you feel you are in the theatre watching the movie. The music could have been better as there was a lot of room to experiment with a less demanding script on the music front.

Just when I was out of the theatre after the movie I over heard a guy remarking '' kuch mazaa nahi aaya yaar, munna bhai dekhkhe jitna mazaa aaya utna nahi aaya''. Well, if that's the kind of guy you are liking munna bhai, this isn't the movie for you. It you prefer to watch a movie that has a story in it and good acting that leaves you disturbed then you shouldn't miss ''Chameli''.

Kya saheb, irada hai kay, dekhna hai kya movie ?
