A day off on a Monday (always feels better than any other week day!), a great Bengali lunch and then a movie like Chameli, all alone (it’s fun, sometimes!)....okkie, hold on, there is more icing on the cake that needs to be done- the character of Aman Kapoor reminds me so much about someone...hmmmm...who else but yours truly! Okkie, so, I am not married, but lost love.........well.......

Aman is an investment banker and his profession requires him to talk...and talk effectively,....I may not be into finance, but my profession also requires me to talk, preach, convince, motivate, inspire...blah blah ( yea, that’s the right word...blabbing...lol!). He is a decent man, still loves his wife, in simple words a nice young urban professional, like me(apne muh miya mitthu.....okkie, occasionally it’s fine....lol!)!

The story starts off well with Rahul Bose’s (Aman Kapoor) car breaking down in a familiar but serene place at almost mid-night. He runs to take shelter under a huge (old British colonial) building where he finds Kareena Kapoor (Chameli) on the look out for her ‘customer’ (swell...I hate this word!).

Thus they meet in a rainy night and come across a series of nasty people who are related to Chameli’s ‘profession’ and in the process Aman and Chameli get to know each other, their past lives, their differences and their similarities!

I think this movie would surely find its place in my elite list of fine movies. Dear readers, lemme analyze why:

1) Simple story brought out in a simple yet intelligent manner. So the credit should go to the writer, director, actors and cameramen!

2) To bring out the softer inner similarities of responsibility, trust between Aman and Chameli was difficult but eventually executed in a fine manner.

3) Okkie, dear readers, about Kareena Kapoor, I know I am touching a sensitive topic here, but please ponder that she might only have a great body to flaunt and some might consider her pretty (I still find Raveena Tandon prettier though!), but Kareena really has acted well in Chameli. I think that she is beauty with brains (now)! I could make out that she has done her homework quite well in studying the character and brought it out really well! Kareena, if you are reading this, I am free this evening for a candle light dinner...lol;-)

This was the first movie of Rahul Bose that I saw, and I think this role suited him perfectly, he looks sober, intellectual just as the role required. Overall, natural acting by all.

4) There were only a couple of songs in the movie. They were quite tuneful and well picturised.

5) This movie was short and crisp too, just about two hours duration!

In all, a smooth movie! I enjoyed watching it, I hope you do too!

And I know the end now...lol...he comes back to her, the next day, and takes her away from there, for their new happy life!
