Day and night meet in the evening. A bit of light is given away and a bit of darkness is accepted. In the dawn, this role is reversed where a bit of darkness give way to light and with time the day is born.

Globalisation made India a new and large market for multi nationals. They entered with high expectations but got struck with the realities at ground. The soil is not ready for change yet. Do they change their styles to suite the soil or is it that the country has to change? This meeting point if you can imagine, like the evening or dawn is like a meeting point of Manu Gupta (Vinay Pathak) and Mihika Mukherji (Lara Dutta) for Chalo Dilli.

Mihika, is a busy investment banker in Mumbai who have multi billion rupees business and hundreds of employees working under her but her life is shuttled between Mumbai and Delhi as her husband is in Delhi. On such a trip to Delhi she meet Manu who is loud, down to earth, a bit uncultured but good in heart. He faces every hard situation in simple manner and he finds solutions to any problem he sees around. Their meeting was pre determined and no wonder Mihika lost her flight and had to go by a budget airlines. Accidently Manu too was there in the flight with his loud stories and careless attitude. The flight had to divert to Jaipur as some technical troubles at Delhi Airport. Here too Mihika meets Manu and two cultures tries to meet through these two individuals in this film.

The film has a sufficient dose of fun to keep the audience entertained throughout the film. Also there is good amount of thoughts woven nicely. The writers made the story flexible as the audience can identify with the story in their own areas of interest. If one wants to find metaphors for personal life, they can have it. If they wish to see it as a political film with references to political scenario of India, the metaphors are still working. It can also be imagined as an economic meeting point or social or cultural meeting points as well. In short it creates some good but blurred images which can be viewed with our moving imagination. The first half is quite impressive where the second half took a little lazy path where the writers fail to create enough hurdles to enhance the curiosity created. Neverthless the writing is interesting. Direction too is interesting and Shashant Shah did a good job here. Technically the film could have been better made but being content the protagonist the film manages to overcome such limitations efficiently.

Vinay Pathak is brilliant in the film and the actor proves yet again the quality of an artist in him. Excellent! Lara Dutta quite impresses in the role. She has an equal role in the film and the actress proves more than a point with it. Very good!

Cinematography is just average plus. It could have been better but the cinematographer fails to go beyond a level. Music and choreography too is passable. Editing is good in most part.

Overall, it is a good film where fun is not slapstick and thoughts are not forced. There is a thoughtful climax for the film and here too metaphors are blurred for good. It is a commercial film with art elements in it to make it entertaining for both classes of the audience. Definitely worth a watch, the film is recommended!
