This time I am writing review on Central bank of India (CBI). The reason that I am writing this review is to make you guys aware how disastrous it could be visiting central bank of India even for small work.


I recently visited CBI's Solapur Road, Hadapsar, Pune 13 branch. I had a small work to make a DD.The amount was very small.When I stepped in the branch at 11:00 AM there were only about 5/6 customers. The staff was more in number than customers.Very odd indeed, it shows that CBI fails to attract customers and now I know reason as well which I learnt in a bitter way.


So for making DD I took a form, filled the details and paid the money to cashier.It took 30 minutes for doing all this.Pathetic speed of service really.After that I waited for 15 mins. Hoping to get the DD and courier and get back to office to attend a meeting.But that was not meant to be.


When I asked the gentlemen over the counter for DD, he said I will get after 3:00 PM which came as a rude shock to me.I asked how could making a DD take so long time ? He said that he cant help it, and it will take so much of time and if I had urgency go and speak to the manager. I realised there is no point in speaking to this unprofessional guys and explained the manager.The manager seemed to convinced with my urgency and he was kind enough to instruct the staff to make it soon.


But what followed was very disapointing. Again after waiting for 15 mins, I asked the gentleman if the DD is ready, he rudely said I have not got the paid receipt from cashier yet and he asked me to go and speak to the cashier.Notice the two things here, one is he was mum until I asked him and secondly now I was doing job of peon instead of customer. The cashier gave me the receipt and I handed over to the staff whom I was speaking to make the DD. He kept that receipt for 10 mins. and later called me and told that cashier has not filled the required details. I went back to the cashier again and he took 15 mins. to fill up the details and give it back. I then handed to the staff, who again after 10 mins, asked me to get the sign of another officer on that receipt which I did again. I had to do because I had to get back to office urgently for meeting and I also I had t courier the DD same time.Finally when he printed the DD while taking from printer he tore in two pieces( this was accidentally, but see the way they work.) After that he stuck cello tape on that and sealed it and gave to me. It was 01:00 PM by that time and I had already missed my oppointment at office.


I got it finally at 1:15 PM and the gentleman said to me now I should have realised the procedure and why it takes so long.Well the urgent one took 2:15 hours even after instructing by manager.Sarcastic ! And what a rude way to tell the customer about their procedure.


But the story doesnt end there, while going to office I checked the DD carefully and name of PAYEE was printed half. I spoke to the party who refused to accept that saying bank wouldn't accept it which was correct.


Next day I went to SBI, got my DD in 15 mins and went back to CBI and cancelled the DD. I lost my precious time and money dealing with CBI.


I am never ever going to step in CBI branch again. I have realised that they are jokers and don't mean business.It may not affect to them if they lose one customer like me, but the fact that they harass customer itself is injustice to the salary they are taking.


CBI is not the bank for professionals who value their time.Do not go there unless you dont mind dealing with unprofessional guys and losing your time.
