The Display not two lines, however it should not cause any problems. Calculator comes with a V.P.A.M. technology, which has larger and more easily readable characters. V.P.A.M. stands for Visually Perfect Algebra method. These types of calculators let you input calculation formulas just as they are written like we do normally on papers. It lets you view expressions result at same time. I frankly didn’t know this until I read in the manual. I knew what two line display but this V.P.A.M stuff is simply great.
Awesome 13 different modes of operations are available with this model. CMPLEX is for performing complex numbers operations. A small i is displayed for imaginary numbers in complex numbers. With Base-N you can fix a base to anything you want from binary 2 to 6 for hexadecimal. ENG is for engineering needs (increased precision). DEG is for degree, RAD for radians and GRA for Gradients. SD is for statistical calculations involving statistical functions like standard deviation, mean, median etc. With FIX and SCI you can get greater precision required in Mathematics and Physics. With Kout you can get summation functions. To enable a typical mode press the mode button and the number assigned to the appropriate mode.
As in case of every other calculator this calculator comes with hard plastic keys and slider case. On the flap some important instructions and formulas are return to assist the user. I personally like design of Fx 100D model. That model is not listed on MS however it is somewhat similar to 100d in features however it comes in a black case and the plastic keys are different than all other models.
The calcy has a two way power and it also equipped with auto power of capability. A common yet important is the backspace button. Like a computer keyboard this button also helps erasing the wrongly entered current digit. It is very help full in solving big calculations with many operators and numbers. It is very likely to go wrong and mess up the whole calculation. This feature helps in minimizing the frustration of recalculating.
Total number of features is whooping 206. To highlight few features it has all standard Arithmetic Operations like Addition, Subtraction. You can also do Fraction calculations including decimal points. Percentage calculation becomes as easy as it is with normal calcies. Permutation & Combination calculations like calculation factorials of a positive integer. Also nCm and nPm calculations can also be done with it. Different modes are available for these as I calculations. The Standard and default mode is decimal and degree mode.
The calculator has a long lasting built-in battery, which lasts for years. My friend during post graduation had this Calcy. He said the battery is still going strong. My conclusion is that the machine consumes least power for all operations. It also has a auto power off ability when not in use for 5 minutes, thus saving the power. Overall not the best model available around but should do well for average calculating needs. What I like about this model is its low prize. It comes around 650 Rs., which is great in comparison to 100w and higher models. The body is also lightweight and attractive in looks. So my advice to you, go for it even if you can’t use all of the features.
