Today we badly need to play carrom at all times, this is a wonderful game one can play from morning to late night, rules are so easy, one can play 28 the winning point to reach, it can last for one hour or just in two set game.
What is carrom?
Do i need to explain the play , rules of the game, and how it is played, everything to play carrom is as easy as one can see with eyes, ear to hear and able to walk or handle to catch anything by hand.
carrom is something very interesting.
Watch two or four players who sit opposite to each other and deeply watching the moves that can happen when the opposite strikes with a striker and the carrom coins made of wood which need to be little heavy or else it moves very erratically, i don't know what is the exact weight needed to play be it at home or at events, it should not vary in size or weight.
carrom play with your friend, relatives or anyone.
Since four can play at one time and others can watch the game and give ideas too, in this way just like chess game, i am sure this carrom need to be put for national events and also international event and why not for world class match or even for olympic.
you cant play too smart.
Though it looks easy to play and win in the first two games, what is important is if the opponent is clever and watchful, nervousness may cause utter failure too, don't be over confidant that you can strike to hole at every strike, one need to practice well if there is an event.

In practice it is very easy, can be very confidant and win also, provided your opponent is very weak, or else you may loose the game even zero.
my childhood days.
I have played a lot for hours, whole day carrom with my relatives in my home town and in the home of my relatives in bangalore at least i have played for more than ten years of time, each time of my visit i used to play carrom not for one hour, but for tens of hours.

The cost of a carrom board used to be very less, but now a days as the good quality wood may cost a good carrom board at least two thousand rupees or less i think, it is very important to have a perfect board, neat holes, with net to hold the fallen carrom pieces and a very good quality ivory is the ideal and the best, if ivory is not availble, heavy plastic will do,
use only boric acid powder.
Never use any other powder be it talcum or chalk powder how so it is soft and small in grain, the only and the only best is boric acid powder used by hospitals.

Even if the board has lot of scratches, dents or any type of weathering or mishandled injury to the board, once you sprinkle the boric acid powder and just strke with the striker , repeatedly towards your opposite side , the evenness of the powder that make the whole board look so lovely is something one can enjoy if he handles the powder by his hand.

Medical quality is unadulterated and not a single grain of sand wil be there, this makes very even possible to adhere on the board made of wood or any other new type of materials.
how to play and win?
Take a deep breath and dont try to use your full lung power to hit on the joined coins which are placed one followed by white and black and the red is the queen that is placed at the center.
be the second not the first to play.
I feel it is great advantage to play after your opponent start the match play first, there is a greater chance of you getting better position to strike your black pieces and if you have a partner, tell him or her to play in such a way if you are a better player than her, it is better she play simple and all the load is on you.
dont have too smart partner.
The thrill in this game, it is beeter if your parnter is not so strong as you, only someone who can listen and understand dos and donts.
now i have to tell, the best time after decades of boring tv programme it is time to
1 invite friends to play in your place, have ten boards, give them coffee, tea and snacks and also prizes.
2 if you are bored why not play carrom with your wife, if she is nagging, when you play with her , since
she is a looser you can tease her a lot.
3 play with your teen aged son or daughter, now you can see they cant play with concentaration, your son or daughter is more interested with their boy friends or girl freinds sms hence you will win.
with relatives.
It is boring to talk or converse with your never ending relatives, they always ask what and when you are going to shop or work and details that they have heard from you umpty times, by playing carrom with them you can keep their mouth shut.

Carrom game is a strategic game like in war, hence it will be usefull to trap your opponent.
