The recent purchase of 1 Ton Carrier AC (2 weeks back) has made me let down for 2 big brands in the market - Carrier of course and also CROMA.
Please make sure of all the hidden costs of installation with Carrier Split AC. I recently bought 1 Ton AC for Rs 28999 (from CROMA - this is another watch out - please dont buy from CROMA - they are overpriced compared to what u could get outside and very poor customer service - I bought it for my loyalty to Tata as a brand which I wont anymore) and I was taken by surprise to pay additional INR 4850 for installation when the Outdoor unit is placed just above or behind the indoor unit (well within 14-16 ft distance) - here is the split of cost they will ask you for - Installation - 1500/- (they wont even put a hole in wall).
Bracket to hold the outdoor unit - 750/-
Cost of pipe - 210 INR per ft (this after an argument came to 12 ft for INR 100 per ft and 210 per ft for additional distance) which came for me to about 2500/- for some 16 Ft.
Moral is the cost of AC was shoot up by almost 20% while paying premium to brand Carrier as well as Croma.
I have raised a complaint with both of these and am awaiting to see their response..
