Canon Powershot SX10IS was the latest model in Powershot family.
SX is for Super Zoom and IS stands for Image Stabilizer technology.

Optical View finder with focal adjustments. Very useful for people who use spects. So you need not have to wear glasses to use viewfinder.
EASE OF USE:
If u have already used a powershot camera then its Childs play else it’s better to read manual to get most out of camera. Swivel screen helps you to capture images in different angles with ease.
I already have PowerShot A95 and did not find any difficulty in using SX10IS.Please note that this is high end Powershot camera and do not compare it with EOS and SLR cameras. Some features may compete with those series like resolution and 20x zoom. Remember that this camera is built using CCD and not CMOS.
Auto focus: Good. Its Ultrasound mechanism tries to perform best as possible and we can even adjust focus manually for some special effects.
Flash: A big no. It’s like using a 10 volts torch light as head lamp for Benz car. If you want to take indoor pics then better buy an external flash [with adjustable flash angle]. More over the placement of flash and lens may cause shadow behind subject! Still the built in flash is OKKkk for small enclosures and nearer subjects.
USB 2.0: This is the best feature. USB transfer is very fast. It takes just seconds to copy images from camera. As the camera uses SD-HC memory cards it’s even possible to copy images with some card adapter.
Battery Life: Boss! Its 20x zoom camera with 10mp so what can we expect and that too from Canon? Better to have an extra pack of batteries when you want to use camera for long.
BTW SX10IS needs 4 AA batteries.
Memory: As usual, no built in memory. I am using 8 GB SD-HC card. I really don’t know the upper limit for this.
Swivel Screen: Good, wider than A95. If you want to buy a camera with wide screen then why don’t you go for a 20" laptop with 2 mp built in camera? Ok, it’s your call. My suggestion is to use viewfinder to save battery.
Controls: Well placed control dials. One dedicated video recording button and a button configurable for a shortcut.
Zoom: Very Good. You can see many YouTube videos featuring zooming ability of SX10IS.NOTE: Some things are not as they appear!!
Pic Quality: Very Good and again do not ever compare the quality with EOS and SLRs. Use image stabilizer feature and good lighting.
Face Detection: Yes it detects!
Video Quality: Best in its range.
It coasted me Rs.17, 000/- [ $339 apxly ] when bought in US and it may cost around 22k in India.
One thing is - "Itna paise me itna hi milega[ actually thoda zyada hi mila :) ]".
