For ages I have been using Film cameras and it took me more than 5 yrs

to switch over to Digi Cameras. May be during 2000 - 01 Digi cam

prices  were too  steep and even common man cant afford to buy a

decent digi cam.  Being a common man it took me long time to settle

with decent digi cam which can fit in my budget and my priority was

mainly on the image quality, user friendly, durability and better

battery life. Of course the budget bothered me a lot. I researched for

almost 3 months in the net reviewing each model by brand wise and

giving more weightage to user comments than the expert reviews.

I have selected 3 brands to scrutinise further Canon, Nikon, Sony

respectively. Canon and Nikon are the best in giving minute details of

the images and crispness is something which makes one spell bound. Sony

is good but I am not satisfied with the image quality and sometimes I

feel the pictures were over exposed. Finaly my shortlist have come down

to Canon A550, A630 & A640 and Nikons P3, P4 and 7900. Out of all

this I had settled with A630 considering the features like 8 MP, 21

different shooting mode, cost and 2.5' lcd display.

Lets review Canon A630. This camera is being perfectly designed to suit

all members. Keys were perfectly placed to click and review photos.

2.5' LCD swivel display plays a perfect role to shoot self images and

for reviewing photos you have shot. If you want to save battery and

take more pictures you can use the option of view finder and click more

than 50 images even after the battery slips down to low level. Macro

Option is one of the best I could say that Canon has given to its

customers. What a clarity and taking minute details, if you have a

steady hand in taking Macro photos you will be scintilated about the

picture quality:)

If you want to learn more on digital photographt I would suggest you to

choose either Programme mode or Mannual mode, dont go for Auto Mode,

its meant only for starters. Explore all the modes in Canon A630 and I

am sure you will not think about going for another digi cam.
