MY DSLR experience. Review on Canon EOS 450D

Its been a few months since I have bought a Canon EOS 450D SLR camera.I have to say it was quite a set back on financial terms as it cost a full 42k for this baby(u may get it a tad cheaper in the US).The camera comes with the default 18-55 mm Image stabiliser lens kit(You have the option of getting a diff set of lens if you wish).

The first thing you like about this camera is the built , its neither too bulky neither too light(475 gms), just right to hold it steady for shots.The key features of this camera are its high range in the photograpghy variables namely Shutter speed , Aperture size, ISO(film speed for non photo graphy nerds)speed...etc.First the ISO(film Speed)...450D offers an ISO range of 100 to 1600(WHOAAA!!), while low ISO are useful for brightly li/stationary objects the high ISO is good for clicking objects in low light where you don't want to spoil the fun by emitting a flash.(And there is an Auto ISO control option too).

The camera produces minimal noise(grainy texture)even at a very high ISO -1600.The shutter speed goes upto 1/4000 th of a second(that means the next time a bullet flies towards you, u can practically click it before it hits you.....I know bad joke..nevermind)Live View feature:Like any point to shoot camera now you can view the object being clicked on the LCD(3"0 --That's a big one), this helps a lot in manual focusing(will come to that a little later).Focusing: As is common in SLR cameras you have the option of manual as well as auto focus on this baby, with 9 AF- points it very rare that you will ever have any point out of focus in your composition.

The camera provides thre auto focus modes :Single shot(Single time focus), Servo Focus(Continuous focusing:for moving objects), AI servo(Juggles between the other two modes as required).The default lens provided has a wide angle end(focal length 18 mm) for panoramic landscape shots and a telescopic 55mm end for zoom.Practically it gives you a zooming option of 3x optical zoom , provided the wide angle view its simply great.There are a no. of picture settings available in the camera for diff shooting modes for added enhancement of the pics being taken.the defalt battery(li-ion with charger) provided is of gr8 stamina as it lasted me a whopping 500 shots with/without flash combo on full charge.

The burst mode feature is a max of 3.5 frames per sec, considering it an entry level DSLR that is simply gr8.The camera comes bundles with all the necessary accessories, and canon guys send you a cool starter kit once you register your camera on their website.Pros:Heavy features like shutter speed , ISO range .9 point A-Focus, Good battery life.Awesome picture quality.Cons:Expensive when compared to nikon with similar features.
