What do winners do? Rebel with their own self in a constructive manner so that they can improve and be the very best. And that is what Canon has done I guess with their introduction of the Rebel XTi, where they have shown that they just do not want to rest with the Rebel, they want to give some intelligence to it too :)

I owned and still own a Canon IXUS and man must say that’s the best thing I had for all my journeys in India, and now with the Rebel XTi I have been pursuing my amateur photography skills in the US :). With changing seasons and the colors that please your eyes every pixel counts :)

You can visit the site https://ashwinu.myphotoalbum.com/ where I have uploaded the photos clicked for your own belief, but mind you that these have not been edited to look better, its all natural :)

Coming to the Camera, I liked the Sensor cleaning stuff, something which will come handy when we venture out and mainly the spot's cleaner (all lay man language) is one thing which you would prefer to have when you want to click photos with flash and close-ups or with a light background.

Also selection of a Canon was also to the fact that you can grip it play your thumb around cause the access is easier and need not use both hands to do mode selection and aperture or depth settings. I kinda like to operate with right hand for the camera settings and left for the zoom.

You can chose JPEG, RAW, and RAW+JPEG simultaneous for 3.8 Meg to 10Meg pictures, depending on what you want to do with the photos. You can use the white balancing on the move, and make use of the depth of view preview if you want to change the close-up effects.

With the provision of 9 point Auto Focus, One-Shot AF, Predictive AI Servo AF, AI Focus AF (automatic switching between One-Shot/Predictive AI Servo AF); Manual Focus (MF) I doubt if one can miss something even in a casual take.

With shutter speeds varying from 1/4000 to 30 sec. (1/3- and 1/2-stop increments), X-sync at 1/200 sec I doubt those shaky hands can now relax and take sharp photographs.

Also the one I already spoke of is the cleaning mechanism, the Auto Sensor Cleaning and Dust Delete Data are kind of making the visit to the dealer less frequent :)

Its light weight and does what it is supposed to do and I love to hear the "Phatak" sound which is the SLR heart beat the moment I click.

But what I dont understand with the makers is they made their product click using a remote, but they dont supply the remote with the package, they made their product to write on a CF card, but did not provide an inbuilt CF card, they know that these cannot be taken in pockets, they dont provide a good bag (free), and I guess they should have gone wireless in data transmission to transfer data to a laptop, and touch screen on demand :) Am I asking for more ? Customers want more and more always.

People I recommend check other models also, plus the money, plus what you want to photograph and then go in for one, would suggest keep it to the lower models of the SLR like Rebel XTi, get used to photography, know what to use and when to use, when you feel you can understand things completely move on. This is an amateurs advice :)

Keep clicking.
