YES, I AM AFRAID

I would like to think that maybe one day, peace will be felt throughout the world. In an effort to avoid the head-on collision of fueling the pro/con oppositions of both sides of this topic, I would rather speak candidly about the many faces of war, terrorism, and hatred, crippling the existence of world peace.

WAR-What does it all mean?

Why do people find it necessary to fight one another?

Why is it so easy for man to judge or decide, who gets to live, or who gets to die?

Love is a beautiful emotion with many different meanings. I have heard people say, “Love conquers hate.”  Love is powerful, but hate is lovable. People love to hate. Hate fuels the body, giving reason for people to do the bad things they do, with no regrets or remorse, no conscious, no care, and certainly no love.

I would like to think that God made this world big enough for all of His living creatures to share. However, it is the greed and lust for power, of the human race that makes this feat impossible.  It is the need for one man, one country, or one nation to dictate leadership of another. It is the need for one man, one country, or one nation to rule and be heard in an effort to be politically correct, when he decides that it is his God given right to fight for what he believes in, and to fight for his country.

What is it that man believes in so strongly, that warrants war, injustice, inequality, and/or death?

NO, I DO NOT SUPPORT WAR!  Innocent lives are lost in war.  War is never the answer for peaceful resolutions.

Who actually wins in war? No one. However, many lose their lives fighting for what they believe in.

How can the leader of one country, decide that the leader of another country, is unacceptable, therefore, must be destroyed, or deleted?

How can one race decide that another race is unacceptable, therefore, must be treated inhuman, and/or deleted?

How can one man take away another man’s pride, self-respect, and obligations?

The most important question of all is, “When did man become God?”

I am an American citizen, and I love my country, however, in this country, minority races have been fighting a “personal” war for a very long time, against slavery and racial terrorism. Slavery, as with the Holocaust, took away many lives of innocent humans, brutally, and with no remorse, no care, and definitely no love.

The effects of war, racism, and hatred, will be around for a very long time. Reason being, no one wants to accept responsibility for the actions of these crimes. No one wants to admit the initiation of these crimes.

Both Bush and Saddam, fighting for what they believe in for their country, are prime examples of the epitome of hatred, in which both are willing to go to any length to “showcase” the strength of their power.

How many innocent people will have to die, so that these two leaders can prove their point?

I may be banned from this site for my opinionated review, but I take side in neither. Let’s be real, when it comes right down to it, we are all very sensitive and ready to defend our country. We all know that name-calling can be offensive, and, in a sense, “fighting words, ” and that is what we are prepared to defend, as citizens, debating which country is right, or which leader is right, thus resulting in a pro vs. con cyber-war debate.

We all know that supporters and non-supporters will fall under one or the other leader.  I refuse to fall into the debate of “I support Bush because he is right, ” or, “I support Saddam because he is right.”  Who is to say which leader is morally right, or morally wrong?

My concerns are for the innocent lives that are lost on both sides. I will argue that it is morally wrong to murder innocent victims in this war, a war between two leaders, two countries, based on decisions of the two trying to play “God.”

War is war, whether it is military or racially motivated. People die from the result of these non-peaceful “war” crimes.

Can there be peace in a world of sudden terror? No, I do not think so. War and terrorism comes in many shapes, forms, and fashions.  It is not just a war of terrorism or sudden terror. “Sudden Terror” has been around for centuries.

Am I afraid of the war on Iraq? Yes, I am.

Was I afraid of the terrorist attack in NYC? Yes, I was.

Am I afraid to pick up a newspaper and read about the many terrorist attacks on people in other countries? Yes, I am.

Am I afraid to turn on the TV or radio and see or hear the results of the many terrorist attacks on people in other countries? Yes, I am.

I am afraid of any type war and hate crimes. I am afraid of one man, one country, or one nation’s power over another. I am afraid for the victims of these horrendous acts. I am afraid because “man” has taken on the task of “judging” one against another.

September 11, for Americans, was a day of reckoning, a day of reality, fear, and loss. Was this act of terrorism necessary? No.

Is retaliation necessary? No. For the simple reason, hate breeds hate, and solves nothing in the end. Retaliation is the result of today’s U.S. vs. Iraq war. When will it end?

Terrorism is happening worldwide, is any of it necessary? No.  But then again, who am I to say what is or is not necessary?

Terror is fear. Terrorism is death, as is war.

Bloodshed is red, regardless of the color of ones skin, or the political aspects of one’s country.

Peace is hopeful, and that is all any of us can hold on to, a hopeful day of world peace.

Will there ever be peace? Only God knows. As long as there are warmongers, haters, dictators, political leaders with power, racism, and people who think of killing and harming others as a sport, or to prove their leadership standing in the eyes of their nation or country, there will be no PEACE.

In my opinion, “peace” is a rejuvenating emotion we must find within ourselves.

May God, and not man, be the mediator of this war.
