Pretty in Pink Soap: Camay is a Classic

Proctor and Gamble makes this pretty pink bar soap, Classic Camay Softly Scented Bath Bar. The soap comes in a pack of three bars that are 4.5 ounces each. The 3 pack of soap costs $2.50 which I think is reasonable, not too pricey.

The fragrance of Camay is like a floral bouquet which is not too strong. I like a fragrant soap, but for those of you who don’t, this soap might seem to smell too strong. I find it fairly mild, but that’s just me. If you prefer unscented soap, don’t get Camay Classic. While the scent is very noticeable when I’m bathing, it does not last on the skin after bathing for long.

I use Camay in the bathtub as well as for a hand soap at the sink. The shape of the soap bar is curved, which makes it easy to wash hands and in the bath. I have a problem with dry skin sometimes, and Camay leaves my skin feeling moisturized and very soft to the touch. Camay lathers very well, too. It leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean and does not leave a filmy soapy residue behind. It rinses off well without leaving any lingering soapy feel to the clean skin.

I have used Camay soap many times over the years, and I have never once broken out from an allergic reaction. Before you buy it, please check out the ingredients to be sure you have no known allergies to any of them. Here is the list of ingredients from the package:

Sodium Tallowate, Sodium Palmitate, Sodium Cocoate, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Water, Tallow Acid, Palm Acid, Coconut Acid, Palm Kernel Acid, Glycerin, Sodium Chloride, Fragrance, EDTA, Titanium Dioxide, FD&C Red #4, D&C Yellow #10

Overall, I find that Camay Softly Scented Bath Bar is a very reliable soap that is hard-working but gentle and it gets the dirty job done. I would freely recommend it to anyone, except for persons who prefer no scent at all in their soaps.
