April Fool Day is the day when everyone tries to show How smart I'm by trying to fool the other person ! Its basically a day when the smart people lay a trap , play a trick to fool their buddies, relatives, work-mates.

The other side of the story on Fool's Day is represented by the fools. They somehow sometimes have a feeling of getting cheated by someone whom they have trusted, looked upon them as good friends whom they can rely on... But at the same time there are a few fooled ones who take it in light spirit and enjoy the moments of foolness !

Filmi Instances of April Fool

------------------------------------------------

  1. A movie named as April Fool starring Joy Mukherjee. I never managed to distinguish between Joy Mukherjee and Vishwajeet. Both of them sported the same non-sense smile across their face and wandered behind the heroins in a hope to get atleast one of them. Shashi Kapoor was no better than this duo except the Kapoor lineage.

  2. A sensational movie named Deewana Mastana starring Govinda, Anil Kapoor and Juhi Chawla ! The climax was a superb fool's day experience for the two heroes !

Let's talk of business : The Perk

-------------------------------------------------

Cadbury's Perk was launched in much fanfare a few years back by the pioneer chocolate company in India, Cadbury's !

Cadburys is one of the very very few companies where their name represents the product they sell. When a kid cries for a chocolate, he cries Cadbury chahiye ! The company that enjoys such a reputation in India as well as abroad has wonderful products under its belt in India namely Dairy Milk, Five Star, Bournvita !

But a FMCG company can't survive with only one or two brands in the fiercely fought marketplace and this was the realisation that made Cadburys India launch The Perk.

----------------------------------------------

Perk : Kabhi bhi Kahin Bhi

----------------------------------------------

Perk was launched as a Time-Pass snack and positioned as something lighter than the normal chocolates ! The perky Preity Zinta standing in a queue outside some office and feasting on the Perk was the idea to die for ! This adv. was followed by Gayatri Joshi (Swades wali) as a Bride trying to sneak in the Perk !

The evolution : Perk started as a pack of two bars packed together. Pitted against Nestle's Kitkat, it managed to grab some marketshare from Nestle in the wafer coated segment primarily because of Cadbury's good distribution network and superb brand image. This was a booming time for Perk coupled with nice campaigns coming in !

Munch's onslaught: A few years later when Perk reached its saturation level, Nestle launched another wafer coated chocolate named Perk at Rs. 5 ! The price obviously the key selling point and it did extremely well changing all the dynamics of the market. Sooner, every chocolate (Except Tempations) was available in a pack of five rupees. Perk, a saturated product was also made available in the small pack.

Taste : Major deterrant : The wafer coated chocolates or anything based on biscuit wafer have been failures in India except Pickwick. This is because the biscuit based wafers do not have their own taste and kids treat it as chewing onto a paper after sometime! Perk being introduced as a Timepass snack did well initially ! Thanks to the perky advertising campaigns its boom lasted for a little long...

--------------------------------------

April Fool banaya :

--------------------------------------

Getting back to point of biscuit wafer based chocolate, Perk was priced at Rs. 10 as against Kitkat available at Rs. 12. But KitKat contains more quantities of chocolate whereas Perk contains more of biscuit. Going by the popular Hindi movie song Ye public hain ye sab janti hai, Perk's success couldn't last long and sales have been on decline !

The April fooled people would rather go for a healthy Dairy Milk or Five star from the same company available at the same price at which Perk is also sold and would satisfy their chocolate hunger rather than eating the choco-wafer !
