It's a romantic evening on a perfect Sunday. I am all alone strolling on the roads of Bombay, having nothing special to do. Smiling to myself thinking of some bitter-sweet experiences I had in the past. Something catches my eye in one of the showcases of a large chocolate shop. A deep, rich metallic red wrapper with golden highlights and a lusterous word “ Bournville “ mysteriously staring at me in a dark chocolate brown colour. A dark, bitter-sweet feeling which has been lingering inside me goes ahead to catch hold of this delicious bar. I can't help but loosen my wallet to buy a bar of this mysterious chocolate as it perfectly suits the feeling I am going through. I sit in a clean park somewhere in a corner of Bombay, where no kids can catch me and relish on the bites of this hevenly chocolate which feeds the dark desire in me for nothing in particular, as I go on smiling at myself, humming to myself. An old man sitting nearby having his lungs full of fresh air, notices me and my stupid smiles and wonders, ''Has this guy gone crazy?'' He is frightened of my crazily haunting smiles and is about to run away from the park until he sees this dark chocolate in my hand and starts smiling himself. See it's infectious. The smile. And this chocolate helps me bring it out of me.

========================================================

How would that idea make for a commercial for this hevenly chocolate. Hope someone from the ad world picks me up and gives me a break. Just kidding... Am happy with my present career.

Bournville is a dark chocolate which tends to be as honest as it can be for the word 'Chocolate' It is named after the village 'Bournville' that the Cadbury brothers built for their Chocolate factory. This dark slab of a delicious thing is very firm and more resistant to heat than it's sweet milky brothers. When you touch it's dry surface, you get that powder feel rather than the sticky feel you get from other chocs. There is a possibility that kids won't like it that much. But the ones with the right taste for chocolates cannot help love this sinful pack.

Bournville is widely used in kitchens all over the world for chocolate recipies either in grated bar forms or powder forms. It is a slab of rich plain chocolate without any nuts. As you have it, a bittersweet taste keeps lingering in your throat hours after you have finished the chocolate. Very much like the memories of the most memorable moments which remain with you decades after the event takes place in particular.

I personally find Bournville very near to my heart. For one of my crushes, I used to buy a pack of three Ferro-Rochers. By hook or by crook have two out of those three for myself. And then used to take out a slab of Bournville which she used to hate. So I could have it all for myself. One day she couldn't take more of this and married someone else leaving me alone. Oh! What a tragedy? Is it? Not at all. I am still happy with my Bournville. How mean of me? Maybe the bitterness of a devil in me. Bournville is somewhat like this. It has a sweet taste at the tip of your tongue with the steady undercurrents of bitterness as it enters the throat area. It is an exact blend of the two tastes, sweet n' bitter.

In the mid-80s Cadbury introduced a dark chocolate called Gambit, which eventually disappeared from the market dominated by sweetness. I myself had it when I was a kid and disliked it immediately at the first bite. I couldn’t enjoy the bitter taste it carried. In the years I grew up to see and taste all the bitterness & sweetness life has in store for me, Bournville became a favorite at the first bite. Rather say Bournville helps me remember my childhood, where no bitterness existed.

A Recipe called 'Dark Desire':

Ingredients:

Strictly 1 sweetheart.

A pleasant ambience.

Pleasant instrumental in the background

A single cube of Bournville chocolate

A bottle of wine.

A single Y shaped glass

Procedure

Put on all the dim shade lights in the room, switching off the bright ones. Switch on the music. Let it flow freely. Pour wine in the glass. Share the glass with your sweetheart as the two of you drink the wine from the same. As you empty the glass, draw her/him closer to yourself. Look into her/his eyes. Hold her/his face between your palms. Now your face is very close to hers/his. Gently kiss her/his forehead, eyes, cheeks, chin. Stealthily place the cube of Bournville between her/his lips. Be sure she/he doesn’t eat the whole of it. Hold one end of the cube in your lips as you kiss her/him slowly and gently. The eagerness of the kiss and the bittersweet taste of the chocolate are a perfect match. The bitter taste comes almost as unpredictable as the kiss.

Ps. Don’t try to have a bigger bite of the chocolate. Maybe it can lead in a fight between you two. If that happens, am truly not the villian.

Please do tell me in the comments how u liked the recipe.
