Last Saturday I was flipping across all the channels just to spend some time with my TV, eat some potato chips and relax, I saw sunil pal doing some comedy, Aajtak showing some horror news ,etc and then came tech stuff wow I saw 2 guys running every where in the streets of delhi collecting prices for computer parts.
Then they had prices from all over the place they decided to meet at a Juice center where they had a glass of juice and then and there they decided to go for the cheapest PC but with good configuration and under 20,000, I have a pc and I dont need one more but as my sister told me she wanted to buy a new PC this new year so I wanted to see how to get a good PC for 20000 rs. Ok back to the CNN show, those guys decided on 1 main dealer and went to his place then they bought all the cheapest ghins they could like 17" monitor the cheapest, AMD athlon 64 bit processor which is very cheaper than intel 32 bit, a mother board 256 MB ram, etc now the price they paid for the PC parts was around Rs 20200/-. then they moved from there.
After coming to the office those guys started assembling the bits and pieces togather and in a few mins they had a whole brand new computer ready. I was thinking how quickly they did it, it was easy no hassel etc but the funny and the most nasty part and which disturbed me was when they booted up the computer it showed Microsoft Windows XP Professional edition, how can they get a PC under 20000 if they have paid 20000 for the pc parts only, did microsoft sponsor them that windows XP professional version for free with unassembled PC parts ? or did they get it from road side vendors for Rs 30/- per CD ?
There were many softwares shown, PhotoShop, Office 2003, some games etc ... did cnn ibn's DAD paid for that freaking softwares ? how will a common man get a PC under 20000 ?
So, I must conclude their show was a complete flop and bsa.org guys should go and pursue them and file a suit against them for promoting piracy.
I am hurt because I paid Rs 5200/- for my windows XP professional and I use it at home. I use OpenOffice for desktop processing. I know it is a little slow but gets my work done. I dont understand how can such a big corporation support and promote piracy.
In india everything can happen. long live pirates and see big companies.
