Abhishek Bachchan [Bunty]

''Rakesh'' (Abhishek Bachchan) in a lad from Fursatganj, he is a man of schemes, ideas, invention and restlessness. His small Uttar Pradesh town begins to feel a bit too small for his king size plans. Rakesh is a misfit in his own hometown Fursatganj which is too small for big dreams of the kind Rakesh dreamt. He wants to be amongst the richest in the world, move in limousines. He has unique behaviour, he lets parrots free of their cages and little tea boys free of their insecurities. He has a unique restlessness about the place and the people of Fursatganj. And also people there on their part can't figure why he is and what is it that he's doing there. Desperately he wants out of Furstaganj. And as “Bunty”… his (Rakesh's) fantasy starting to unleash.

Abhishek acting has been improving film after film and this movie is certainly a one up for his career.

Rani Mukherjee [Babli]

In another small town called Pankinagar, ''Vimmi'' (Rani Mukherjee), is like a self proclaimed queen of her little kingdom. Our heroine, faces the same dilemma (as our hero). Does she follow the course every other young Indian girl does. In her mind she’s the foxiest thing to ever have hit a ramp. She’s the hot the world can just gape at but never touch. She is (Ha!) Miss India (????).

She has no qualms about shaking a vigorous leg with the boys in her papaji's akhaada; about walking up to a complete stranger and asking him to accompany her to the loo on a railway station in the middle of the night; (could have been avoided) about chiding teaboys who mistake her to be just another girl. One day, Vimmi starts a journey into a new land and a new life. Quite by accident (it was the most obvious accident), she gets rechristened. An unwilling “Babli”. So she too decides to fly the coop.

Rani looks scintillating and fresh. The smile she gives is infectious and the acting superb. She as Vimmi steals the show as she always does as a heroine.

Amitabh Bachchan [Dashrath Singh]

Can smell a rat in a garbage heap. Hater of those who mess with the system. Happens to be the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch. Dasrath Singh currently has two passions: Bidis & Channa, and two problems: Bunty and Babli.

And that's proving to be the biggest challenge of his thirty-year career.

Storyline

Bunty and Babli are two avid dreamers. Two free souls born into caged small town realities. They grow weary of being two specks on the horizon. Somewhere along their individual journeys, Rakesh and Vimmi meet. They are flogged by circumstance but unwilling to concede (even to each other).

In a moment of mistaken truth, “Bunty” and “Babli” are born. And the world gets turned on its head! Sequences in the story unfolds and in due course they meet lot of different kind of people like Kings, powerbrokers, bandwallahs, millionaires, investors, leaders, ministers, banjaras, elephants, explorers, hoteliers, chai boys and one very, very upset policeman(you can guess whom)!

Together they are everything (u know MASALA of Indian cinema) like spiritual gurus, bureaucrat and secretary, gangster and moll, business partners, hen pecked husband and pregnant wife, lawyer and sexually harassed client, vagabonds, caught-in-a-downpour lovers and lots, lots more. And they seem to love every minute of it. ( Ha! You can now guess about the movie)

Their escapades play out against backdrops as varied as the Taj Mahal, the banks of the Ganges, at places like Benaras, Kanpur, Lucknow, Mussoorie, Rishikesh and Hardwar, the skies of Delhi and all across the network of the Indian railways and highways. Every mundane reality across the India is flushed by a splash of “Bunty aur Babli” excitement. In this, the tales of two dreamers blaze the sky like comets at a time with nice comedy.

In the nutshell

The film also stars a new hot babe Tania Zaetta and has an item number by none other that Aishwarya Rai. To sum up it is nice enjoyable movie which you can watch with your family, friends & kids.
