I bought this Machismo 350 CC AVL on September 21 2009 in Chennai. I made a lot of research before choosing Machismo rather than Electra or TBTS. I have been using HH Passion for almost 6 years, but my passion for Bullet never faded all these years. Now that I had the money to go for one, my ultimate choice was Bullet Machismo. The reason being it has better Fuel efficiency, good pick up, Classic look with big Headlights and more of a commanding look than TBTS or electra 5S. Though the thump is missing, it did not bother me much since machismo rips fast in the lane compared to electra.

Pros

  1. Great looks with broad tires and classic broad mudgaurd are the + + for Machismo

  2. The big Minda headlights gives a commanding look

  3. Comfortable seats for a good ride

  4. No engine oil leak ( 3000 Kms on my odo)

But there are certain aspects which I would like to bring out here in this forum about Machismo.

Cons

  1. The tappet sound or otherwise called the clatter sound is predominant till the 4 gear. This is because of the Aluminium alloy block used in the engine. Mechanics say that it will vanish by usage.

  2. Vibes become harsh above 75 kmph. The speed of the engine not only leaves others behind you. but also that you will not be able to see them in your rear mirror because of the terrible vibration. Again Mechanics say that it will be gone once the engine matures

  3. The engine seems to be running a bit tight when compared to the electra 5S. I personally checked this while choosing the bike and ofcourse starting the engines of the new bike. Not sure whether some one else have identified this.

  4. As per Authorised service centre, mechanics, the only difference between Machismo 350 CC AVL & electra

5 S is the CI block, I mean the block which has fins mounted on top of the engine. In electra its CI where as in Machismo its aluminium alloy. Everything else in the engine is the same with regards to electra and Machismo. I am completely new and I am not sure whether the difference told me is 100% correct.

Though it has certain areas of concern, I still love each and every minute of ride on this Bull. Though this review might not be any help now for people seeking bullets, since electra and Machismo have been stopped.

This one stands by its name built like a gun, goes like a bullet.
