The thumping sound of bullet has always kept me fascinated till date. But only after '27 years, 6 months, 6 days' of my birth, I got a chance to be proud owner of ONE.

I got a silver electra 5s on sept 16th , 2008. It cost me around 96k. And I spent extra 1k to get my home town registration. ( KA-09 : mysore ). Trust me. I didn't know the gear shift pattern also on the day of delivery ( that doesn't mean I don't know biking. I have run my hero honda passion 90k km) and I have yezdi road king. Those things apart. With full confidence on enfield I got one without worrying much about gear pattern..etc.

Its been almost 2 months.. And now I am riding it so comfortably.

I have got so many envious looks , other bikers showing "SUPER" gestures ( to my bike..not me.. Lolz ) , many people stopping by and asking whtz the on road price, mileage etc. I have run 3k km in less than 2 months :) in fact. I took it to first service in 6 days...

Though it takes some time to get used to handling, braking etc.. Once u know your bike. Then you are the BOSS!

Whats the best things about the bike is its stability on road and comfort of ride. Whats worrying is milage ( well if you own a bullet. You should not worry about mileage..) .that too in city limits & traffic. It consumes lot of fuel. And one tip for people who are planning to buy bullet..dont plan to rip / race with your bullet as its meant for elegant driving and enjoying the ride and not show-off.

There are so many bikes and bikers ( pulsars, yamaha, shogun etc ) for doing that.

If somebody is in a hurry, give them space coz I am sure ppl dnt even think of crossing road when a bullet is coming on that road.they wait til you are gone.

So you must give respect to take respect.

Well coming back to my bike.

I got it fitted with accessories.. Viz,

  • crash guard (polic style - 650 rs )

  • light dome cap ( 30 rs )

  • carrier( some 350 rs)

  • replace sound horns ( put ROOTS - 500 - 600 rs )

  • got a helmet lock ( not permanent one.. The wire one which u can use as wheel lock also )

Keep a spare spark plug, battery wires, head light bulb.. I tool kit. Don't know when you may need it. Depending on ur built ( hands length) you can adjust the handle position ( 1-2 cms nearer or farther). This is very imp.

Coming to bullet clubs.. First learn to drive comfortably and learn to do things on ur own..like minor repairs.. Etc. Once you think u know your bike well. Then join a club and enjoy. One thing that could have added to the dome was fuel level indicator. Coz in reserve. Can't say how many km's it runs.

Start Thumping!!!
