Welcome to the world of the Royal Enfield Bullet.

The first time I rode one of these 'heavy' 'dangerous' 'be very careful' bikes was in Chennai. I had to get to the airport in a hurry to meet some one. Everything seemed ok, except for the fact that it was pouring cats and dogs and it was 9 0' clock at night! Poor visibility, slick roads and gusty winds off the Bay of Bengal! A very generous friend suggested I take his 350 as it would be 'SAFE'! Well, I had no choice, so there I was on a Bullet for the first time in my 20 years on earth tentatively jamming the brakes when I was actually meaning to shift gears! Well, I figured at this rate I could have got to the airport a lot quicker in an autorickshaw. But as I got the hang of the machine, it was one little swerve and then a little more of a quick turn and then I was screaming along the famous Mount Road all the way to the Meenambakkam airport. Boy! was that an exhilarating ride. I have since, never considered another bike. I own a 350 that I rebuilt and my dear wife bought me a 535 cc Lightening for my 35th Birthday. I have since fitted a windshield, front disc brakes and am looking for alloy wheels. I have some great spot lights and running leds and cdi ignition. I am not interested in Electric starters, but am desperately looking for a good set of quality rear and side (left and right) panniers. I am not interested in the leather ones on offer. I am looking for good fibreglass ones. Price does not matter. If anyone out there know of any in India, please let me know. ( brass@rediffmail.com).
