Brothers as a movie tests its audience. It is painfully slow and melodramatic in the beginning, for the first 2 hours or so. One can feel the audience beg the movie to move forward and arrive at the fight scenes. However, as one nears the last 45 minutes, the movie picks up it pace and proves to be one of the most authentic portrayals of real-life events depicted in Indian Cinema history.
The scale of the matches, the stadium, the fight sequences, the driving factors behind the owner of the franchise(in the movie) is highly commendable. Sidharth and Akshay look very convincing in their roles as brothers who are now opponents. They have developed their physiques to match those of actual MMA fighters. Jakie Shroff character feels forced and annoying although critical to the plot. On the whole, Brothers is a fun family film to watch if you can somehow live through the first 2 hours.
