All right people don’t be ganging up on me after you read this review. (Ha, ha, ha). When I first heard the song Hit me baby one more time I was like “what the heck is this”? Then my son and daughter told me that the song was fromBritney Spears. I was like “who the heck is that”? Then I finally realized that she was going to become one of the hottest women pop singers of my children’s generation.
Britney Spears has received some bad rap from mothers, fathers and others. I have decided to look past her beautiful looks, and how she dresses during her tour and videos. I wanted to get to know who she was and what was inside of her. I don’t like to judge anyone on the way they look. So lets see what this CD has to offer.
Baby One More Time
The hit song that made Britney who she is today is a song that is still in my head. The song is called “Baby One more time”. At first I didn’t understand the concept of this song or video. What was Britney trying to say when she says, “hit me baby one more time”? At first I was wondering does she mean allow her boyfriend to hit her one more time or what? Today I still don’t really know what she meant by that phrase in the song, but the lyrics and rhythm sure did stick in my head and the heads of others. “One More Time” is an upbeat song it’s not to fast, but yet we can’t consider it a slow song either.
The song “Crazy” is more livelier then one more time was. The video is awesome and Melissa Joan Heart is also in the video. The song is about a boy and girl who have fun together doing things that are cool and wild. This song my daughter can really dance too.
The song ”From the Bottom of my Broken Heart is considered the second love song from Britney spears. I liked this song and the way her voice hits some of those low and high notes. It’s about a guy and girl once again, but this time the girl ends up having to leave the boy and her heart is being broken. The song also is cool cause a lot of teens can relate to the https://lyrics.
The song Sometimes, this is her first love song and it’s about a girl confused sometimes she doesn’t know if she loves him or not. The song is slow, yet her voice is so sweet and lovely. I think teenagers also can relate to this song as well. There is nothing bad in this song and the lyrics are perfect.
The song “Email my Heart”, is a song that I really don’t listen too. In fact my children don’t even bother with this song. They seem to just skip over it all together so I guess I need to listen to it myself to see if I like it or not.
The song “Soda Pop” now this song is pretty cool its not just Britney in the song. I believe there is some other guy doing back up voice in the song. It’s up beat and easy to dance too, but it’s not one of her best songs.
The song “The beat goes on” once again I haven’t heard this song either on her album, but I’m sure if it was any good she would have tried to use it as a single and a video.
Conclusion
There are the songs, but remember this was Britney’s first album, so some of the songs were not as good as the ones that will follow. I like her music because it’s fresh and I like my kids to listen to more pop songs then rock or rap. Most the songs that Britney sings are not bad, but in some parts I guess you could question her motive as to why she would sing about sexual things. She is now a grown woman and I believe she now needs to target a different age of listeners. Her songs are begging to be more mature and the younger kids shouldn’t listen to them as often. I have nothing against her or her songs. She has an awesome voice and I believe her songs will go on for a long time to come.
This album has a variety of styles of music for each person to listen too. Like I have said some of the songs I just didn’t like, but that is mostly the same with all CD’s. I guess if you don’t like Britney Spears then maybe you also might not really care for the other pop singers out there today. I like pop music but grew up on Rock and Roll, and I will never forget the good old rock music of the 80’s. Pop will not over take Rock! If it wasn’t Britney’s voice that made her big then I don’t know what it was??? Hmm maybe some one else can comment on that one?
