In the world in which we live, mankind is caught up in a continuous search for the answers to questions like “Who created this universe? Where does it lead? How the laws that maintain the order & balances within it work? & Is universe infinite or finite in space & time?” Whether consciously or not, we all look for ready-made answers or follow hypothesis that others have made in the past. Knowing this wobbly aspect of human character, Stephen Hawking himself (The greatest astrophysicist of our time) tried to disclose the original design of our universe- with the help of big bang theory, Black holes & the dark liaisons between Science & God Almighty in his book “A brief history of time & space”……
The book “A brief history of time & space” is divided into 11 chapters, each beautifully separated from one another but each have their own importance. The chapters includes “1)Our picture of the universe 2)Space & Time 3)The expanding universe 4)The uncertainty principle 5)Elementary particles & the forces of nature 6)Black Holes 7)Black holes ain’t so black 8)The origin & fate of the universe 9)The arrow of time 10) The unification of Physics 11) Conclusion”. Apart from these 11 chapters the book also contains some valuable information about Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, & Galileo Galilei.
However, the real objectives of this book was, firstly to help us go back in time, when it was generally believed that- Earth was the center of the Universe (Probably during the time of Aristotle & Ptolemy), and secondly, to describe (With examples & references) how different theories related to the structure of this Universe came in to existence, and, lastly, to give answers to questions like – What exactly is the Big Bang Theory? How does the Big Bang Theory signify the creation of this Universe? Why does a black hole forms? Can we travel back in time? Is time travel possible? and, Is universe a creation of God or was it created by chance?
This book also gives an insight into some good scientific aspect of physics while explaining the starting of the Universe & Time, some of which are in agreement with scientific findings while some are against human reason & conscience. The book also serves as an ideal guide for those who are eager to learn more about the world we live in.

What is a Big Bang Theory (In my own simple language)? - If the outward movement of all the galaxies were traced backwards, then they would presumably meet in a single point. When this large blob of matter (Which is known as the primeval atom) exploded, our Universe was created. Thus, the Big Bang Theory easily explains the formation of this Universe (And I fully agree with the scientist)…
But from where did this huge blob of matter come in to existence? Why did it explode all of a sudden? How come the stars & the planets are within ranges of precise distances from each other?( Had it not been for this simple fact, collision between planets & asteroids would have been inevitable….And planet Earth would not have harbor any kind of life form)…..
Whatever the scientist have to say about the creation of this Universe, I’ve this strong believe that the Universe was created by God Almighty. Stephen Hawking has very cunningly asked in his book: If God created the Universe, what did God do before He created the Universe? And his own answer was: He was preparing hell for those who asked such questions!!…..Well, we may never be able to answer this question correctly but all I can say is “God created this Universe on the day which had no yesterday”….

In the 20th century, great strides were made in the field of astronomy. People like Albert Einstein, Alexander Friedmann, Hubble, Subrahmanyan Chandrashekar many more, made remarkable discoveries about this Universe. But Stephen Hawking’s is perhaps the most talented scientist of them all (With due respect to Einstein & co). His book “A brief history of time & space” effectively explains the concept behind the Big Bang Theory, Black Holes, Time Travel, Quantum Mechanics, Singularity Theorem, Gravitational Field& many other wonders of this Universe.
In this book, the probability of the accidental formation of the Universe, the formation of Black Holes, & the relationship between Science & God is demonstrated in a very unique way. And the fact that Stephen Hawking has used only one equation (Einstein’s famous equation E=mc2) in his entire book makes it even more amazing & interesting for common readers (With no scientific background) like you & me.…..
