Story:

What transpired in Madison County Iowa in 1965? A chance meeting of a man and a woman on Roseman Bridge, which lead to a beautiful relationship between them. We all dream of the chance meeting, that moment when we feel we are really living. Waller shows us that it can happen, with compelling assurance.

''THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY'' by Robert James Waller.

I received it as a gift from a friend and found that it's a real heart warming and a beautiful book.

Its such a wonderful and touching love story that when I was at the end I found myself in tears not because of some bad ending. I wept because that beautiful couple was departing from each other, I could really feel the pain, which we have when we get apart from our loved ones. I wept because they died in each others remembrance and I wept because they couldn't enjoy their life together for more time. But then I was happy to know that they lived their whole life in those four days, which they spent together. It's a kind of story that if you will start reading it, you won't stop turning pages untill the end comes. James has written it in such a wonderful manner that if anyone would go into the depth of the story, it won't be difficult for anyone to imagine himself or herself a part of the story. When I read it I could imagine myself as a part of the story. It's a very sensational and believable story.

It's the world wide best selling Love story...........

The book starts off very well and keeps the pace till the end. It's a story about a guy Robert Kincaid who was a combat photographer with the marines in the South Pacific during the World War II and women he called Francesca who was married and had to children. Robert Kincaid had gone to Madison County, Iowa, in order to take pictures of the Roseman and Holliwell covered Bridges. He was a professional photographer on assignment to National Geographic magazine in the fall of 1965 and he was lost. Pulling his green pickup into the driveway of a well kept farmhouse, he stopped to ask direction. Francesca Johnson was at home, alone, her husband and two children were departed for 4 days to the Illinois state fair. She had been married for 15 years and the luxury of time to herself was an unusual break from her daily life, as there was the courteous stranger approaching her for information. This was just introduction of the story, next what happened was the beginning of a beautiful relationship. And I would recommend u all to read this next part.....definitely u will love reading this book. I feel it's a story of incredible, powerful and transcending love with Full of emotions, pain and beauty of life.

Robert James Waller writes stories about men and women struggle with love, hope, disappointment, responsibility ..... everyday issues, which touch us all. I think it's a novel for which Robert might be proud to have written. This Novel is of 171 pages which has been translated into 25 languages and over 50 million copies have been sold worldwide! On the New York Times Best Seller list for 3 years and number 1 for 13 weeks. The way writer feel confident, even I am confident that you will experience the same what I have experienced while reading the book. At some moment somewhere in your heart you may find a Francesca Johnson or Robert Kincaid..........

The story for everyone who believe in a once in a lifetime love.
