Based on : Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen's

''Bride and Prejudice'' or ''Balle Balle Amritsar to LA'' is a movie plotted around a Sikh ''Bakshi'' family living in Amritsar. The family consists of Mr and Mrs. Bakshi and their four daughters. The movie starts with a wedding occasion in which Bakshi family is invited. Then starts the real drama, the race between the families to catch the attention of a London based bachelor 'Balraj' who is very rich. How come Mrs Bakshi remain behind in this race so she also instructed her daughter Jaya to somehow woo Balraj.

At the end Balraj appears in the party with his sister and American friend Will Darcy, incidentally who is also very rich and have his hotels all round the globe. AT the end Jaya succeeded to knock down Balraj as he fell in love with Jaya. After the marriage Balraj asked Mr. Bakshi to take Jaya to Goa where he and Darcy were going for some business deal. Mr Bakshi gave the permission but send Lalita with Jaya. In Goa Balraj and Jaya came more closer but on the other hand Lalita and Darcy moved further apart. AT the same an another American Wickham came into the life of Lalita and they started liking each other.

Finally Lalita invited Wickham to her house in Amritsar. The girls returned to their house and Balraj and Darcy returned to London. Back in India when Jaya is waiting for Balraj's call, an NRI Mr Kohli came to see the daughters of Bakhshi family. He proposed Lalita but she refuses his proposal and Mr Kohli left the house. Incidentally Mr Kohli get engaged with one of Lalita's friend and so Bakshi family got a chance to visit London and also meet Balraj. A lot of things happened in London and at home after this. Finally Lalita and Jaya got married to their beloveds. How ? Lalita married whom ? Watch the movie :-).

This was about all the plot of the movie. Now some general stuff.

Though this movie was supposed to be for international market it too Bollywoodish with a lot of songs and because of the treatment of the subject

As far as the direction is concerned director has done pretty good job except the first song which was lengthy (as it was a bit boring). But one positive aspect about these songs and the Garba dance is that at least it shows that Indian films are not only about sorrow and hunger. It shows the vibrant colours and the enthusiasm in the society.

The plot is good and the film is able to keep the audiences interested and you won't feel bored at any point during the movie. The character Mr. Kohli was hilarious and Nitin Ganatra has done a wonderful job. And can not forget to tell, Don't miss the Nagin/ Cobra dance by Maya (Meghna Kothari). All rest of the stars have done pretty well.

Now the songs, Anu Malik has done a good job giving some lively music in fact this is one of the strong points of the movie. The first song ''Balle Balle'' is very good and is already a hit with the superb voices of Sonu Nigam and Gayatri Iyer. This wedding song can easily be heard during weddings now days. The other song which is very good is ''Tumse Kahein ya Na Kahein'' sung by Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan. The other two songs ''payal Bajake'' and ''No life w/o wife'' are also good. Overall the music is good.

Finally I would like to say that BnP is a good movie with mixture of emotion and humour and is worth watching once. I have presented some plot of the movie so that you may decide whether it is worth watching or not. BTW after reading some of the reviews in newspapers I thought that movie would be awful but it is worth watching. So no prejudices !!
