Story:

I believe in the adage of ''too much of anything is not appreciated'' and hence this book of John Grisham is a welcome respite for all those who are tired of his everlasting court room drama.

Story 1:

The Berthern is a group of disgraced judges spending their time in a low security prison/ camp. Since their security is low, these 3 people start a racket wherein they trap businessmen and wealthy people in a homosexual trap and then later through their lawyer fleece these people for money

Story 2:

The CIA Director picks up a low profile senator and asks him to be the last minute candidate for the Presidency run up. This takes many a people by surprise because the agenda of this mysterious candidate is raising arms spending to counter the moves of Russian army. He is helped by the series of errors of the present govenrment, first, the inteligence could not forsee the Cairo embassy bombing and then later the US hits the wrong targets (does this sound like the Afganistan Bombings ?). The candidate becomes a front runner in the presedential run up.

So where does the 2 stories meet .... that is the Plot of Berthern .... With a series of interludes and the description of every detail, this grisham novel is as good as his other ''Law'' classics.

if you have an appetite for details and a stong liking for detective novels, please pick up this book. The way the chapters deals alternately between these 2 plots shows the strong nature of John Grisham's novel.

As usual, the ending has a twist in it though not as surprising as the other ones but nevertheless,is very realistic
