After doing an extensive research on the net, I zeroed in BOSCH 7 KG WAE20261IN and LG 6.5 F1280WDP25 washing machine. Did some quick rounds on some of the famous outlets in Bangalore to seek comparisons of this products in terms of tech specs, features, warranty, after sales service and price.
One reason for my confusion was whether to go for traditional belt drive model or the new "Direct drive" technology. LG offers 10 year warranty on Motor, however I was given to understand that there are terms and conditions involved. I also went through various reviews on the net on the cost involved in case of any issue with the Direct drive Vs Belted Drive. LG "Six Motion" did not fascinate me because this is available only in selected programs in the LG machine. There are no written specs about the water / electricity consumption or about the noise level anywhere in the LG specs, but specs were very clear for BOSCH (which is 100% imported from Poland) Other features being comparable, I felt going for a BOSCH 7.0 Kg is a better deal than LG 6.5 Kg Direct Drive 6 Motion in the same price range. Mr. Niesh @ Pai International - HSR layout did a great job of explaining the features of both the washing machines in depth and in technical. Got a good bargain on the price (after exchanging my existing semi-automatic washing machine) and I selected the BOSCH 7 KG WAE20261IN from this outlet. Not impressed with the skills of the technician from BOSCH, I expected someone who can communicate well and explain technically more about the unit. Instead of making me feel that I have done the right decision to buy a BOSCH product, he scared me with the rates applicable for each visit of the technician, (which prompted me to buy additional extended warranty for 2 years after default 2 year warranty ).
The technician came on time, could not resolve the extra noise which was coming out of the machine during Demo. Pail international raised to the occasion and followed up with me until 11.0 PM and promised me to deliver new unit if I am not satisfied, I got a new unit the next day , BOSCH technician installed the same on the same day and is working fantastic . I forgot to mention that I won an additional 5% discount because of the "Scratch & Win" offer-on top of the list price. The CRM of Pai International and Mr Nitesh was quick and good in coordinating the new unit delivery and the technician visit, Overall great experience and satisfaction with Pai International HSR layout outlet. As regards to the machine and the wash, great experience for the last two days, washing quality is excellent, 15 Min quick wash + extra rinse enough for less soiled clothes (office wear), Exceptionally quiet during washing, Spin @ 1000 rpm generates little extra noise which is normal ( as per technician). BOSCH technician did not give me a BOSCH authentic warranty card, he maintained that the installation report ( even without a zeal / signature) is enough .
When I insisted on original warranty card from BOSCH, he reluctantly said he will provide me the same sometime next week- Not a feel good factor from BOSCH. I have already written to BOSCH on this, I hope there will be some response I will be writing my experience on the real performance of the machine after few months- which will be more on the actual product performance than the shopping experience and the initial feedback
