Habits of a true bookworm!

Being the staunch bookworm I am, I’m always on the lookout for great new books. Of course, the best place to look for new books is the bookstore. Currently, I am on a hunt for Eldest, the sequel to Eragon. I haven’t managed to find the book yet but I’ll get it someday. I the meantime, I have to endure reading the reviews of those of you who have got it and is ravaging on about how great the book is. So, having a passion for books I always want new books and my taste in books range from the greatest literature books to the books like Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter(those are the books I read most) and I also tend to be a little over-protective of my books! So let’s get on with the actual point of the review!

Habit No. 1

I always cover my books in clear, sticky, plastic paper

Yes, I always do that! Every single book I’ve got is covered with plastic paper. I’ve found that it prevents the cover from ripping apart. It might not prevent pages from falling out but it does help keep the book looking nice neat and new! I think it all started when my Harry Potter books started falling apart. Now thse are very precious books indeed so my mother decided to paper them and after that I’ve covered every single book I’ve got. The only book left uncovered is the Da Vinci Code which is gonna get covered very soon! Right now it’s taking a well-deserved break on my bookshelf!

Habit No.2

Judging books by its cover… or um let’s make that title!

Yup, that’s an inevitable thing when you are in a bookstore looking for something great-looking to read. I know when you do that you may tend to miss a few good books but say what! Anyways, nearly all the books in the store catch my eye so I don’t think I miss much! If the book’s cover is not interesting enough, I always look at the title, which always seems to catch my attention. For example, I’ve noticed that some Lord of the Rings books have boring looking covers; it’s totally black with just a coloured circle on the cover symbolizing the ring. But when the cover looks boring like that, I always look at the title. Someone would have to be mad to look at a Lord of the Rings book and not think the title sounds interesting!

Habit No. 3

I always read the descriptions on the back of the book

I always go in the bookstore to read the back of the books. It’s always interesting and you come up with a list of great-sounding books to add to your collection. For me, there’s the tiny problem of who’s gonna buy me all those books in the store that I want. Right now, I am dying to get my hands on Eldest but no one wants to buy it for me! My mom would, but there are no copies of it it in the stores! Reading the back of the books always makes me day next to hearing Sonu Nigam. It’s really interesting to do!

Habit No.4

I borrow a lot of books

But I always return them as well in excellent condition. I borrow from everybody, the library, friends and family. And you turn out to get some great ones too. Ok I think every single book I’ve read is great but I think the greatest and best book I’ve ever read is To Kill A Mockingbird! Just today I borrowed a book from my school’s library and I’m still reading The Silmarillion, which I’m only less than halfway through1 tell me that isn’t crazy! It sounds crazy but I read faster than the 37 girls in my class! And I’m currently reading three which I plan to finish by Monday!

So that’s all the habits I can think of right now but there are more! But I think that’s enough to be getting on with! Don’t you?
