I'm a schizophrenic when it comes to the tube. I watch some truly weird things. And I got TV paranoia too. Sometimes I zoom in straight to the channel that I want to see. Most times I cannot make up my mind and I end up channel hopping.
Channel Hopping is a radical hobby, a tool that helps you create your own television programmes. With some skill, you can learn how to seamlessly splice and integrate multiple channels to provide unique programming.
I sometimes get stuff like...
click... good afternoon this is the daily....
click... cow. cows are quadrupeds that...
click... caused the downfall of Napoleon at...
click... the bay of bengal....
click... where Navjot Sidhu hit a century...
click... wakaaaaaaaaaaaa....
er... you get the drift... if you dont then the CLICKs are the result of a gentle tap from the finger on the remote...
On one such day, I encountered Boohbah on Pogo....
Boohbah???
Boohbah is specifically for wee children - not the brats that ask you for cash to buy ice cream but the ones that will cry when they see you eat one. The program was created by Ragdoll, the creators of the extremely popular Teletubbies.
As with the teletubbies, you have 5 kooky looking creatures in Boohbah. These creatures are supposed to be magical atoms that represent power, light etc.
The intent is to use the medium called television to entertain little tots. The program helps develop skills such as imagination, visualization etc. It is vibrant and energetic alright. And its got enough to grab your hyperactive offsprings attention and make them want to know whats going to happen next.
And...
The way the show starts can freak you out if you arent in the age group I mentioned. These five er... atoms with legs and a silly face pop up on the screen.... and they start running around, dancing and holding hands and... you got to see it to believe it. ITS FREAKY!!
Now...
I admit. The first thought that went through my mind was - ''what on earth is this BS?''. Then I realized - I am not 4 years old. If a four yeard old watched Kkusum, she'd fall asleep when the title tune kicks in. Boohbah wasnt designed for me. It was for little feet.
So...
If you got a little one who's just getting used to the planet and surroundings and you want to provide them with a dose of fun and frolic on the tube, make them watch Boohbah. And yes, watch it yourself, you'll ATOMatically freak out.
Why dont you have some fun right now?
Drop in at the Boohbah website ( http://www.boohbah.com) and click on that big logo on the page (muhahahahahah)
walks out singing ''mehBOOHBAH... mehBOOHBAH... ooooooooo.....''
~finis~
PS: Anyone wanna watch Boohbah with me?? I'll make the popcorn
