What does the viewers look for in a movie to make it a hit? Stars, exotic locations, rich look, voluptuous heroine(s), peppy music. Movie makers concentrate on every aspect of it, leaving the most important of all, the Story that can entwine all the above. Though time and again we hear them saying that their movie has a wonderful or unique or something else story, that’s the thing that is given the least importance. Sometimes it gets lost to accommodate the stardom, to go along with the formula. That is where this movie scores. An engaging story that entwines characters which you come across in real life.

Story: Sidharth, like any other Andhra Lad, is an engineering pass out. He wants to live life on his own terms. His over possessive Father (Prakash Raj) does not allow him does that. He takes decisions on his son’s behalf, right from buying his inner wear to choosing his career and his wife. Sidharth’s cherished dream is to take the two most important decisions in his life, which career to choose and whom he should marry. He and his friends set out on this mission, finding a girl for him and getting a loan of twenty five lakhs for the hero to setup his own company. In this pursuit, he comes across Haasini (Genelia) a bubbly, cantankerous girl who is friends with anyone out there. He falls in love with her. Will he marry Haasini? Will Sidharth’s father accept her? How Haasini gets accommodated in his house? What are the problems they faced? You got to see it on the silver screen. Sidharth’s family consists of typical people you normally come across. Like his Hitler Father, his sisters, one of whose husband lives in, you guessed it right! USA. She is always on the phone updating him about the happenings here. Another of his sister addresses her husband “arey!”, “orey!” when he is not around. One more who completed a beautician course lately and is eagerly waiting for a chance to test her skills on some one. His mother is a kitchen crooner who has the talent of being the next MS Subbalakshmi, but ends up cooking food for her family. The name of this movie remembers you a children’s magazine which you might have read and enjoyed in your childhood if you are a book reader unlike many children now-a-days. Watching this movie gives you a refreshing and a joyful experience as reading it for the first time has given you.

Performances:Sidharth and Genelia gave splendid performances and shared great on screen chemistry. Look out for Sidharth’s performance in the climax (according to movie sources, he delivered a three minute long dialogue in a single take and also sang a song) and Genelia’s antics in the Sidharth’s house. People are crazy about Sidharth after Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana and Rang De Basanti. Prakash Raj and Jayasudha as usually did their characters excellently. Satya Krishnan of Anand (remember Anita) fame and popular TV sitcom actress Surekha Vani are good. Sunil and Sudeepa’s roles are similar to the ones they did in Nuvvu Naku Nachav. All other actors fitted their roles well.

Technical: We have another new director Bhaskar here that brought fresh new ideas to film making. His idea of concentrating on a problem that we normally face in life that are not so big to sit crying and not so small to take it in our stride I think strike the right chord with the audience. If he can bring the same freshness in his future films too, we are in for a treat for the coming years. Devi Sri Prasad with his music for this film finally proved he did not turn monotonous. His last few albums were not so good. Though “Padaharanala Telugu Juliet”, “Pani ni sa sa”, “Apudo Ipudo Epudo” stands apart, all the songs are a treat to listen. Photography is superb.

Go ahead and watch this movie. It is worth the money you spend.
