We had been to Bombay Blue restaurant in Bangalore Central, where we liked the sizzlers. Recently ordered for a veg shashlik sizzler in the counter in Transit - Forum mall. They had put advertisements of their sizzlers on the walls. Since we had liked their sizzlers earlier, we ordered the same. We placed the order at 9:10 pm. We had to watch a movie at 10:00 pm. It took them exceptionally long to prepare the sizzler as nobody was there in the counter to prepare it.
We got the sizzler at around 9:30 pm. The serving size was smaller than half the actual sizzler serving size. We thought that this is because we are having it in a food court. The sizzler contained half a bowl of plain rice, a few pieces of beans and 2-3 pieces of other vegetables. The rice was cold. They had poured hot sauce on cold rice. The only tasty part was the sauce.
They had also given a small bowl of sauce alongside. My wife noticed some patty like thing in the sauce. We ignored it thinking its a corn patty. But when I poured that sauce on the rice, I realized that it is a piece of chicken.
I took it to the counter verifying if it is some vegetable item. The manager got confused and started talking to other staff. This is very common in restaurants here. When the people in the restaurants are at mistake, they start talking to each other and stop listening to the customers. After few minutes, the manager said he will give us something else since we did not like this dish. We insisted on asking him what was put in the sauce. Then he said that was a chicken piece and he will replace it. He said it was mistakenly given since they have placed the veg sauce and non-veg sauce aside. We wondered how is that possible in such a restaurant. Even a small restaurant also take specific care of using different vessels to prepare veg or non-veg food.
We felt too guilty since we are pure vegetarians, but couldn't do anything about it.
I thought the staff served the same soup for all the vegeterian and non-vegeterian dishes. They serve the soup without chicken pieces with vegeterian dishes and with chicken pieces in non-vegeterian dishes. Beware
