Bodyguard - Review. Review on Bodyguard Songs

So, the most awaited movie of the year, ‘BODYGUARD’ is here.So what is the most Attractive thing or the USP of this movie is? Is it Salman Khan or Kareena Kapoor, or the wait to see that if the movie makes a 3rd  successful Eid release for Salman or is it something else?

Well, whatsoever it might be the reason, what I think is, that the movie ‘Bodyguard’ hasn’t been able to make it up to the success of prior Salman Eid releases i.e. ‘Wanted’ & ‘Dbangg’ which were far more better & entertaining than this one. Let’s get to know the detailed analysis:

THE STORY: The story is as Simple as it could be & is very much like the 90’s masala flicks! ‘Lovely Singh’(Salman Khan) plays a dedicated bodyguard for whom his duty comes first. He was called by the father (Raj Babbar) of Kareena Kapoor(Divya) to safeguard his daughter’s life. Kareena Kapoor hates Salman Khan following her to her college campus & making her feel uncomfortable in front of her friends & teachers by his ‘upper professional attitude’ of a Bodyguard.

She decided to make him run away from her by tempering his Uniform & all other ways she could do but all ends in vain. Finally, she started calling him on his cell from a ‘Identity Protected Number’ as ‘Chaaya’ pretending as she has fallen in love with him. Even Salman also starts loving the voice ‘Chaaya’ whom he never has met. Unknowingly, Kareena also fall in love with her bodyguard Salman, but keep on spoofing him as ‘Chaaya’. Here the story takes turn & move on.

ACTING: A super performer Kareena Kapoor has been totally wasted with her simple & ‘super Indian’ outfits. Nobody would like to watch extremely talented Kareena doing such a simple & stupid role who has given a movie like ‘Jab We Met’. Even I wonder why she accepted such a character or a film. Salman Khan has done complete justice with his role as a loyal Bodyguard but has looked a little ‘Fattier’ than before. Mahesh Manjerekar had nothing much to do if compared to ‘Wanted’. Else all the actors too couldn’t be appreciated for this film.

MUSIC: Music of this film also doesn’t surprises us as it just like other light weighted songs which couldn’t be remembered after the film is gone except of one, ‘Teri Meri Prem Kahaani’ which is a very beautifully shot song & awesome to hear too. You won’t be able to resist remembering your partner if in love! Rest all like ‘I Love You’ ‘Tyaun Tyaun’ & the title track are just ok. Here the title track reminds us of Salaman’s previous released film ‘Ready’s’ song, ‘Dhika Chika’.

DIRECTION: The film has been directed by ‘Siddquie’, who has directed the Malayalam version of ‘Bodyguard’ too, that’s why the film has a touch of south oriented direction specially in Action Scenes. Well, apart of the action scenes, the script had nothing more to be directed! The film’s story reminds you of Ajay Devgan- Twinkle Khanna starrer ‘Jaan’ & like Shahrukh Khan-Kajoi-Rani Mukherjee starrer ‘Kuch Kuch hota hai’ towards the end. Due to simple looks & dresses that Salman wore throughout the fil also reminds us of his appearance in his early film ‘Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge’. Overall, ok-ok direction.

OTHER MENTIONS: The sound which you here as ‘Chaaya’ by Kareena Kappor is originally the voice of her elder sister & actress ‘Karishma Kapoor’ who’s also nowadays trying to make a comeback soon.

OVERALL: Overall, I would like to say that this movie doesn’t make it up to our expectations. Simple looks of the leading pair is an addition to that. This film is more for ‘Salman Loyal’ fans. I give 2 & a half stars to it.
