If you are a North Indian who has lived in North for areound 2 decades of your life, I can bet that you would not like the food at this place. I had heard a lot about this place and the quality of food it provides but here is what I experienced once I reached there:
Reached at 12:30 and had to wait in the scorching heat till 1:15(45 mins) before they called us in. Now, I was waiting because the anticipation of the good food was way too high. For heaven sake. even my manager had recommended me this place! The tree close to the dhaba which was THE ONLY shade available had a huge number of red ants on it which were falling on the people standing there.
Finally at 1:15, entered the dhaba and another 15 mins of wait. For all those who have been there, you know that they ask for the order the moment you reach there. Why should they make you wait once you go in? God knows. Anyway, the food came. the guy who brought the glass of butter milk literally hit the table with the glass. He seemed really angry on the customers.
Food was WAY BELOW MEDIOCRE. I have had better chhole at Shanti Sagar as well as the parathe they brought. my GOD. was bullshit. The only parathe that was edible was Aaloo parathe. If you take paneer parathe, you would really regret your decision. Anyway, We tried Paneer, Onion and Aloo parathe and regretted everytime. The only decent tasting thing was the butter milk which we found out, was not made by the dhaba people. They were cutting packets of the butter milk and serving in their own glass. SERIOUSLY!
To add to the misery was the room. this place has NO VENTILATION and they make you sit in the kitchen and eat. It was so damn heated . people were sweating. One of my friends totally freaked out when his sweat fell in his food. WHAT THE HELL!
Finally, the bill. it was just as much you would pay at any average restaurant for a much better food which can be eaten along with Oxygen to breathe.
Two of my friends had food poisoning after returning from the lunch. recovered in 2 days. are happy to be still ALIVE:)
Overall, BULL S place to eat. If you are dying to try. take a damned parcel and LEAVE. if you sit and eat, you would surely die soon.
