Bluff Master the movie I enjoyed watching lately, the packaging and presentation are intriguing, the efforts to take Hindi cinema away from the rhythms of a routine narration are pronounced, one smile at the sheer novelty of this satirical stress-buster.
Rohan Sippy's command over the language of cockiness is excellent.
There's a core of humanism at the tale's most basic level, for instance commitment phobia in urban lifestyles, materialism versus spiritualism, the working-girl's crisis of dignity. Then the interest level, which is kept alive through extravagantly syncopated narration.
No hysterical hi-jinks for the hero, this time. When the freaked-out doctor Boman Irani reminds him of his approaching death, Abhishek, playing the title role in a titillating celebration of satire and cerebration, goes into a retro-shell.
Nana Patekar's over-the-top villainy is a case in point. His uncouth character is outrageously narcissistic and incredibly cartoonish.
Riteish Deshmukh as his sidekick shows how dependable a support system he has become. Priyanka Chopra has little to do. But she does it with eye-catching aplomb.
Abhishek's emotive faculties are at peak, another joy of watching ''Bluffmaster'' is to see Mumbai's crowded craggy scruffy by-lanes. Himman Dhamija's camera captured the scenes with urgent and anxious fastidiousness.
