Biryani has always occupied highest place on the tastebuds of the food-lovers in India and also on the tastebuds of the guys coming in Indian from abroad !

A spicy preparation originated from the kitchens of Mughals and Nawabs consists rice as its key ingredient mixed with a variety of ingredients. Well, these ingredients play an important part in making the biryani tastier !

Key ingredients:

Aromatic rice : Biryani is prapared with aromatic rice i.e. Basmati. If the biryani is not aromatic, its not a good biryani even if it tastes good and spicy enough to make tastebuds arouse. Remember, the biryani has come from the kitchens of Nawabs and they are known for eating royal and rich food preparations. Basmati, the aromatic rice has been the key ingredient of biryani for ages.

The rich aroma of biryani is the hunger-stimulating factor.

Types of biryanis : I will stick to types of biryanis depending on their preparations.

Meat biryani : Pieces of goat meat covered in a thick gravy of various spices, herbs are mixed with the aromatic rice. Actually, the original biryani always consisted of goat meat pieces. And this type of biryani is ate in most of the parts of India and Pakistan.

Chicken / Moorg Biryani:Pieces of moorg / chicken cut or boneless are served with thick gravy cover prepared by mixing spices and herbs with the same aromatic rice. This is very popular now-a-days with chicken dishes preferred over the mutton.

Veg Biryani: The nawabs would have possibly died to see this dish. Although, the biryanis are never meant to be vegeterian affair, we have started dishing out them. A few pieces of paneer, soya balls covered in thick gravy are served to slap an attack on the great preparations of nawabs. Well, this is quite popular too.

Lets come to Blue Nile Restaurant

Situated @: Blue Nile owes its origination to the closeness of the owner to Iran. This place is situated bang opposite Poona club on the Bundgarden Road in Pune. It is close to the Pune Railway Station. Ask any richshawala to take u to Blue Nile Chowk at MG Road and he will happily take u there.

Getting closer :Get down from the rickshaw and get tantalized by the tandoor smell. If u r closer to the blue nile, this will not take too long to locate it and get attracted to it.

Ambience :This place is Air Deccan of the aviation industry i.e. no frills. The restaurant has a clean look consisting of simple table and chairs. But the place is clean, has ample light. They have also fitted air-Coolers to cool off in hot summers of Pune.

Biryanis are always to be ate in a non-frills place with no ACs...that spicy taste and the accumulated sweat-drops on forehead make u the real food lover.. well...this is my funda...

Ummm the food :Blue Nile has been famous for ages for its biryanis. Their meat biryanis are something to swear by. One board in this restaurant shows a picture of goat speaking ''Meet me anywhere, but eat me only here''...how true...

The meat biryani of Blue Nile is surely the winner.

They also serve chicken biryani....as well as the veg biryani. One needs to satisfy all kind of patrons. Isnt it ? Chelo murg is chicken-tikka biryani served with smoked tomato and biryani rice.

Need I tell u ... all the biryanis are aromatic ...thanks to the good rice used by them.

Being a biryani special place, they also serve u kebabs (Why that ''E'' comes in kebabs when we pronounce it as k''a''babs ? The mutton massala also tastes good with the rotis...

They also serve custard and I never liked it...

Price, service : The price is decent. A biryani will cost u Rs. 60- 80. But it worth every paisa.

The waiters are polite and service is good.

Adios : Personally, I don't prefer to have any sweet thing after biryani...that relishing spicy taste should never be erased with something like ice-creams or milk-shakes...The nawabs never did that !
