Premium Pricing for Sub-Standard Service

I have been a regular online shopper for the last couple of years and Blue Dart used do carry most of my inward consignments. They were reasonably efficient and most of the times delivered quickly.


However I notice the efficiency and speed of service has gone down considerably during the last couple of months and Blue Dart is no longer my preferred courier service agency. I recommend my online sellers not to use Blue Dart service any more as they have completely lost customer focus. You can' t expect when the consignment is delivered and the tracking part at their site is also pathetic. Sometimes, the tracking site gives quite misleading information like ' due to circumstances beyond control this consignment is delayed' or ' transit service delayed' etc.


There are a number of instances where I had to contact their Customer Service at Kochi to get my consignment delivered at Calicut after a delay of 3 or 4 days. The recent example: I bought certain items from myntra.com online shopping site. Generally, I find Myntra very efficient and ships the items very quickly. They used Blue Dart services to send my item by A/W Bill No. 43194151313 from Bangalore to Calicut, on 28th June, which should normally have taken only 2 days time or maximum of 3 days if there is any intervening holidays. I had to contact Blue Dart's Office at Kochi twice by e-mail and their Calicut Delivery people delivered it here at last on 4th July, after a delay of 6 days . Even small courier companies like DTDC or ARAMEX delivers goods booked at Bangalore here at Calicut within two days time, Blue Dart took 6 days and two complaints. Thankfully, Ms. P.Shalini of their Kochi Customer Service Centre intervened promptly and I got the consignment after 6 days.


It is not known what has happened to the earlier efficiency of the company. The company's Senior Management should take note of the quite distressing reviews posted here at Mouthshut.com site by several genuine customers and find out what is happening at the delivery side of their business.


Speed, efficiency , promptness in delivery and efficient tracking are the hallmark of any good courier service and unfortunately Blue Dart is lacking in all these aspects. They charge a premium over other small courier companies for efficient service but deliver service worse than the smaller courier service companies. Premium Pricing for Sub-Standard Services !


Let them have a soul search before they lose customers in large numbers. Users should write to their suppliers not to use Blue Dart any more because their service is not efficient and prompt. That is one way of disciplining erring courier service companies. The bread and butter of these courier companies are the online shopping sites these days and if their business from this sector is threatened they will be forced to revamp and tone up their services. Another way is to advise your friends not to use their services any more.
