I am not sure if this is the right place to post a review on a courier service - BlueDart. This is the first time I am using Bluedart but my friends have had items delivered by them and they had told me about the issues they faced. Now I had a personal experience.
I had an item bought from flipkart and they delivered it via Bluedart to my workplace, an IT park in Trivandrum, Kerala. The item arrived in TVM on Monday, but they told me they will deliver it only next day which was fine by me. Tuesday morning I called them again to remind them. The only issue was that they never delivered it on Tuesday. I called them up and they told me that they were unable to fit my item into their delivery, which was weird since my package was a very small one. Anyways I requested them to deliver it by Wednesday and gave them my contact number in case they missed it on the package.
Wednesday morning I called them again and they promised to deliver it. Meanwhile even by 300 PM I did not receive any call from the courier folks and since I was unable to contact the local guys I called their Bangalore and Chennai service centres. Here I figured that the local guys had updated on the site that they did not deliver since the IT Park was a restricted area, which is not true since these folks come there every day to collect items from my office.
Moreover this was not the reason they had given me when I called.
Anyways finally the courier guys came to the IT Park and to my shock they initially denied having brought the package with them and on further questioning told me that they delivered it to another company (the IT Park in Trivandrum hosts multiple companies). They even told me that this is what they normally do. I went and collected the package from the neighboring companies security team, who told me that the package was delivered to them by mistake. So much for reliability.
Now I consider my plight better when compared to some of my friends'. One guy ordered 2 books separately from flipkart. Both were couriered via BlueDart. Funny thing they delivered one and returned the other with the comment, could not reach the recipient on the same day.
I am not sure if this is the scenario only for Trivandrum branch or this is the case all over the country.
After all they are the leading courier folks in the country. Honestly I have had better experience with the smaller guys who used to call me as soon as the package reached their local office
