By Atwood, which I read first. Somehow, she avoided The Handmaid's Tale for its dark apocalyptic undertones, which you don't necessarily need to read before bed. I really enjoyed the break from Blind Assassin. I could feel the tension growing with each step. I liked Lenny. The writing is just gorgeous, it's so beautifully done. The ending was a little disappointing for me. Was it Iris or Laura who almost went insane waiting for a lost love? If only Iris, what happened to Laura in the first place? Perhaps no ending could have capped off such a good book. such a talented writer. Canadian citizen - she should be her Dame Atwood.
