Never buy Blackberry playbook!
I purchased Blackberry playbook 16GB on June 2012.Sadly after a year of working, it has gone dead. I searched all forums, supports and already done whatever I could do to bring back it to running but all in vain. Somebody say it’s a software issue, others say its battery- I have tried all the methods pointed out in forums and support. Strictly speaking, it has worked only during the warranty period, after which it s a piece of junk. Think of spending around Rs15000 just for using it for one year!
I live in Trivandrum, Kerala. When I approached the authorized service center(Redington) at Trivandrum, they asked me to contact their Cochin center, and when I went there, I came to know that they collect inspection charge of Rs.650 upfront, further they need to send it to Bangalore and the service would cost me around Rs.4000 and I still lose all the data, video and music -as the service guys will format everything. It was even worth if they at least recovered the data on the playbook, but there is no such option. I need to forget my favorite videos that I shot using the PB.
I don’t know if the play book is still in market; I guess that even support is going to be stopped in a couple of years. My humble request to the readers is that NEVER NEVER buy this piece of junk that will just live during the warranty period.
Believe me, you will be blessed if you donate the buying amount to some church or temple rather than buying this sort of gadgets?
NB: The authorized service center where I went also deals with the Apple and HTC. Many are very positive on HTC, but you have to be careful while selecting such brands; for warranty period services, you need to contact authorized service center, but they are available in major cities only. I found some fellows coming to this center traveling long distance.
