So much has already been written about this movie that probably nothing more is left to write !!! But still, when I saw the movie, I couldnt stop myself from writing about it and here goes my analysis of the movie....

This movie is a lovely story about the relationship between a deaf/blind girl and her old teacher. They share a lovely bond of trust, love and friendship. It is a relation which makes both of them complete, they celebrate/mourn each other’s achievements/failures and fill each other's life with hope and brightness.

The little Michelle has done a grt job, Rani is amazing , just too good as Michelle and Amitabh is superb, no words are enough to describe him! He is simply mind blowing!

This is certainly SLB’s movie with his typical style of playing with colors (though this time he chooses black and white !). It’s a good movie but he could have certainly made is the greatest !!! That’s one thing that I really feel sorry about.

In my opinion, the biggest flaw is the un-realstic and huge set. Alright, I agree Michelle’s father was a millionaire but still there should be some authenticity about their huge “mansion” and I am sure showing a realistic house would have not affected the main plot at all!!

The other flaw is that the movie seems to have the back drop of England, one can’t just relate to it and I am not saying it, b’coz the movie is mostly in English or the lingo used is bit different but b’coz of the way people have been shown dressed up( I am talking about the people on the streets). I mean comm’on people don’t dress up like that in India. One is not able to relate to the movie because of such an effect. The bottom line is that these things somehow make the movie lose its authenticity and I did not expect this from SLB.

Also, I would have loved to see at least 15 more minutes dedicated to the little Michelle after she starts reciprocating to her teacher’s lessons/efforts. That magic which begins after she says her first word “Water” is cut very short (This is what I felt!). Since this movie is based on their relationship, a few more minutes to this would have been wonderful.

I liked the movie a lot and it did manage to touch me as well but a few scenes like Amitabh’s introduction scene was really weird. I believe SLB was trying to show him a bit hyper but ended up showing him weird instead.

On the whole it’s a beautiful movie with a touching story, excellent visual effects but with an unrealistic setting.
