The review is about the Birla Air Cooler that I bought from Dass Electricals, Near Aga Khan Palace, Pune.
The only conclusion that I have reached is NEVER EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM DASS. The customer care section "Service Guru" as they call is the most inefficient customer "care" I have ever encountered in life.
I registered a complaint on Friday(10/04/2009) and was given a complaint number. On Saturday morning I called up to know when the technician would arrive. Was given a prompt reply of "before 5 PM today. He'll be calling before coming". I waited at home till 5 PM cancelling all my weekend activities so that I dont miss the technician when he comes. Seeing no sign of him.
I called up at 4.30 in the evening. One rude fellow picks up the phone and says "aaj nahin aaya hain to kal aayenge" (yeah? I thought the world ends today) ."Our commitment is that the technician would come in 48 hours" He asked me the name of the person who gave me the "mis"-information in the morning without introducing himself in the first place. Unfortunately I had'nt taken down his name nor this rude bugger's name because I was so angry by the time I kept the phone.
Now today morning I call up again and a lady says that all the "information" Ive got earlier are false and they dont work on Sunday and nobody would come till tomorrow. I dont expect anybody to come tomorrow also.. But I want to spread this message that DASS IS THE WORST PLACE from where anybody could buy an electronics product.
Update on 19/04/2009:It has been more than a week since I registered the complaint. Let alone somebody coming to repair the item nobody has even called me up.
