Impressed!!. Review on Bimal Auto Agency - Yelahanka - Bangalore

Hi Friends,

I am in the process of making a career move by relocating from Delhi to Bangalore. As part of this move, I have decided to sell off my existing car in Delhi (Ikon Flair) and buy a car in Bangalore. (Have to do this since part of my terms of employment entitle me to a company leased car......). S after much deliberation and seeing my requirements, (I would be staying alone there initially), I had narrowed down my choice between the Esteem (Lxi/Vxi) and Getz GLS.

So off I went on my car buying mission. My first stop was Advaith Hyundai. It took me 15 minutes to get the attention of a sales executive. Having accomplished this amazing feat successfully, we got down to the nitty gritties of working out the best possible deal for a Getz. The exec basically had the attitude- dude, we are giving a disc. of 20k, take it or leave it. When I asked (or pleaded?!!!!!) for a test drive, I was made to wait for half an hour, and then bluntly told that a getz was not availble for a drive-would I like to drive a santro????. MAN!!!. This is like going to buy a chicken and being told, ''sorry we dont have a chicken, would u like to buy an egg instead?''.

Before I commenced my car buying trip, the Getz was my first choice but after this experience I thought if these guys have this attitude with someone who is a genuine buyer and who has told them that he is going to pay the booking amount there and then, god help the poor fellow who actually buys the car and then expects after sales service.

So with great disappointment, I left the showroom and went to bimal auto in whitefield for the esteem.

What a pleasant surprise. When I entered the sowroom, it was full of prospective customers (maintly for the swift, by the looks of it) but within a minute, I was approached by the showroom manager who asked me for my requirement and immediately assigned an exec to me.

I explained him my need for a car and he suggested I not spend an extra 40k on the Vxi and go in for an Lxi instead. we worked out the disc. part and he himself asked me to take a test drive, which I did and was pleasantly surprised with the marked improvement in the esteem(More on that in my review of the esteem when I have driven it for a month.)

then, we went ahead with the booking of the car. At this stage, I enquired about the swift and he said ''Sir, I will not mislead you- if u go in for the swift, u will have to wait at least 10 weeks for the car.) Now, I was prepared to wait for 4 weeks since I will be moving to bangalore on the 10 of july in any case, but 10 weeks was a bit too much. So that was out of the question. So I finally booked the esteem lxi.

The icing on the cake was when I was leaving the showroom. The exec asked me how I had come to the showroom and hwere was I staying. ( he knew by then that I was from delhi and had not yet moved to bangalore) So I told him that I was staying in IndiOne hotel in Whitefield (BTW, a great hotel for business travellers, HIghly recommended!!!!) and had come by auto. He requested me to wait a moment, and arranged for a swift (for me to ostensibly test drive) to drop me back to the hotel. WOW, how many car dealers in Delhi or anywhere else for that matter would do that. I was Impressed and was convinced that I had made the right choice at least as regards the dealer.

So friends if any one in bangalore is looking to buy a maruti, I strongly recommend u visit Bimal auto whitefield once before u decide on ur purchase.
