I had booked a room a Hotel Bijolia Palace-Jodhpur thru' booking .com.The Hotel Page in the Website of booking.com announced 'heating' in the rooms and 'free shuttle service' to Airport.Since I was particular about 'heating' , I telephoned to the Hotel to reconfirm but was in shock as they refused and told that probably these were put in the website by their corporate office(The Treehouse Group), and will not provide.
When I contacted the booking portal, i.e. booking .com, they were not helpful and wanted 4 to 5 working days time to elicit a reply from the hotel , which is absurd in today's world of fast communication.How can a person wait for such a long period because it forecloses other options and also there is a risk of being charged for cancellation of hotel booking.Very recently they have replied that they have contacted the hotel and have received the reply that hotel has told that 'heater' can be provided only 'subject to availability'.
This is not acceptable. On a winter night in JODHPUR , when temperature dips and HOTEL denies 'HEATER', what me and my family will do.Booking.com has not come back so far evev after 3 days on the subject of ' free shuttle to Airport'.
I have even provided to 'booking.com ' , screen shots from hotels page ( appearing on the website of booking.com), wherein the declaration of these facilities appear.
According to me it is absolutely inept handling by booking.com who allow the CUSTOMER to be cheated thru' their website.I therefore want to warn everybody to stay away from HOTEL BIJOLIA PALACE-JODHPUR as well from the hotel booking website ie 'booking.com'
This is a bizzare way of inducing customers to book accommodation by declararing freebies and then not providing. For example if the hotel says that 'free breakfast' is included in tariff and wants to charge for the same once the guest has checked in, it is pure and simple cheating.
